Well since nobody knows yet if BMO will be saved, here is an alternative that has a lot of upside. Obviously it's not BMO and getting used to it will take some time but the learning curve is about 2-3 days.
I signed up for a free league on Thursday night and I'm currently in the process of having my private league set. I've spoken to the developer on the phone on a few occasions and have a really good grasp on things. I've listed some pro's and con's of the site that another GM came up with.
Again, it's not BMO but in my opinion, it could be just as good over time. Some of the cons we should be able to have integrated.
Cons
Everybody has the same scouting
Limited stats
No revenue system
Finding minor leaguers is difficult
Limited player attributes (e.g. eye and movement)
No listed sim times, when is the next sim?
No gold gloves
Only 16 teams per league
Sim times are slower - 18 games per day
harder to navigate site - takes some getting used to
Pros
Updates! Every 2 months based on player input.
Rule five draft
Waivers for demoted veterans without options
Depth chart
Lefty vs righty matchups
Watch each game live
Player improvements (i.e. jumps) listed in box score & pull down menu
Player mentoring
More micro managing
All stars listed
Top 5 players listed for MVP, Cy, ROY & Fireman
Friend referral for free play
Rank players in amateur draft!
Can train position changes in minors
Draft picks can be traded thru the system. No more problems of knowing who has what
Game Developer cares about product
So far, I have more pros than cons. Updates are the critical part.
If you would like more information on how to setup your own league contact me via e-mail at lucidi09@aol.com. Just to give you an idea of what I have currently set:
18 per games a day
$65 up front to paypal. This $65 covers you for 20 seasons based on 18 games per day. After your 20 seasons pass, your looking at another $65. The prices decreases if you decrease the amount of games per day. Again, contact me at lucidi09@aol.com for questions or concerns.
