How do Bench Players get used?

I tried to go to the help page that gives you tips on using your bench, but got a "This page not available," message.

I have some players that I'd like to platoon and some players that I'd like to rest, but not for ten players at a time. I wish there was a way to set your bench up to do this. In Diamondmind baseball you can set the % of time that Player X plays 1B and the % of the time time that Player Y plays 1B. This would be a nice feature.
