Detroit finishes out against New Orleans and Green Bay. Think they'll either game?

Yes, they'll go winless.

It'll be close with the Packers, but they definitely won't be able to beat the Saints.

Yes, they do.

They have the talent to become legends!

Only three teams in the modern era have started 0-14. They are:

1. 1976 Buccaneers (finished 0-14)
2. 1980 Saints (won in Wk 15. Finished 1-15)
3. 2008 Lions

Just one more game, and they will set the all time record for futility.

Why just suck, when you can be legendary?

Wow, Ford really is one quite a roll. Their main business is in financial straits and their team is the Detroit Lions.

Here's a question, which is in WORSE shape? :D

Am I mistaken, or did Kitna make a prediction of the Lions winning 10+ games and making the playoffs before the season began? I know he did it last season, but I could swear I read that he did it again for 2008, back in the summer...

I don't remember that, but it's entirely possible.

Didnt the Dolphins win only their last game of the season last year or am I wrong?

I believe it was last second type deal too.

It was their thirteenth game I believe and in overtime on a bomb pass against the Baltimore Ravens.

They lost their first 13 games, won the 14th, then lost the last 2. So they only went 0-13, then won a game to go 1-13, then ended up 1-15 after 2 more losses.

for the record, the panthers currently have the record for most consecutive losses in one season (lost their last 15, think it was '01, but i could be wrong)

CatKnight

What's your point? If they wanted to be legendary, they shouldn't have beaten Minnesota in week 1. As it is, they're just there. Like the stuff underneath your shoe when you walk your dog and aren't watching your step.

I second that motion...I hear the Lions played pretty well, yesterday...at least they have a powerful incentive -that of not to be the first team to lose 16 games in an N.F.L. season...

I hope the Detroit Lions win, at least, one....that City has had its share of aggro, lately....

No the Bucs have the record for 26 consecutive losses through 76,77.

Reread his comment, bud: Most consecutive losses IN ONE SEASON

Plus, I'm still giving the futility award to the Lions if they lose this week.

Winning game one (the '01 Panthers) just means they didn't want it badly enough. As for the '76-'77 Buccaneers, they certainly made an impression, but as an expansion team you kinda expect trouble. The Lions are one of the oldest teams in the NFL.

(They also have the second longest streak between championships. Only the Cardinals have gone longer.)

The Lions could easily win either game, if they get some breaks. With better luck they could have 2-3 wins already. My guess would be that their best chance is against the Saints. New Orleans is awful on the road, going 1-6 thus far, with the only win against the hapless Chiefs.

Of course, with the way Brees is playing, I guess the Saints are capable of winning by 30 points, but N.O. has a lot of injuries as well, so...

I would think that the Lions have a much better chance of winning at home against the Saints than on the road vs Green Bay.

Going for it on 4th and 4 they succeed. Lions on the Packer 41, 4:52. They're not giving up. Gotta give them that much

And AGAIN. 4th and 4 on the 35, they convert and have it on the 30
