2B vs 3B

I'm pretty interested in the results from DC's response to CMC_Stags. CMC's first point was just what crossed my mind as I was reading the article

It is sort of interesting but I'm not sure what I really gained from this. Personally I never thought 1B and 3B were able to switch around.

I think the point he is hypothesizing is that teams could put better hitting players at 2B instead of thinking they can "only" play 3rd
