Holiday didn't help the A's.

Sabathia, Burnett, and Tex did more for the pinstripers. Though this did come from a yankee blog

KC wasn't THAT bad

I don't see how the Indians can be the favorites in the AL Central with how their starting rotation looks now. Maybe their offense will just rake like none other...but other than Cliff Lee, their rotation is all question marks...and even Lee will regress. Check the numbers.

If the Rockies go 88-74 this year I will be so happy.

Funny Baltimore and Washington are the only teams listed as having 0% chance of play-offs -- already time to pack up baseball in the beltway, and build for '10.

Whoa, the AL West winner is expected to be the 80-win Angels.

And I'm very happy that the Mets make the playoffs in 09 :)

Following links is tech.

Here are the results of 100 trials of the 2009 season using rosters as of yesterday and projections from the Hardball Times.

Firefox did not like that link. It sometimes randomly decides it does not like them, and then it says page load error

I do not see the Yankees ahead of the Rays and Sox quite yet, i would place them much closer. And if the Rockies really do that good, I may forgive O'Dowd of his sins :D

They're not ahead, but they're all on the same tier.

Which will make 2009 all the more suspenseful and exciting.

Does this take in to account health and injuries and how often players most likely need rests? Because if not then it's something cool to look at but nothing more.

It's based of the projections by The Hardball Times, which don't account for the likelihood of an injury (how could a one-season projection?) but do account for things like age. A Randy Johnson will be projected to a lower innings total than Mark Buerhle, for example.

Either way, a projection this early is always just something cool to look at, but nothing more.
