Xbox 360 has just released an expansion pack for Fallout 3. Has anyone got it yet? Im wondering how good it is, but 800 points is a lot to spend on it.

I've read some early playthrough articles for it that seem to be pretty positive. If you liked the game, it's probably worth grabbing the DLC.

How much is 800 points equivalent to in dollars? If it's 40-50 dollars, then that's probably about right, because that's about what an expansion pack goes for on PC.

Are you insane?! Where the Hell do you shop that you're paying full game price for an expansion?!

Probably comes down to sales share and projected sales figures...there's a lot more 360 owners out there right now than PS3 owners.

I have never paid full game price for an expansion. I have never SEEN an expansion costing the same as a full game.

Yeah usually expansions are 30 bucks. I think I paid 40 for Company of Heroes expansion a while back. But yeah the Fallout 3 expansion is around 8-10 bucks, but I am a cheapskate and I dont believe wasting even that kind of money for something horrible.

But if its good, and I do love Fallout 3, so ill buy it.

That says "exclusive license" to me, and I'm not the only one. (http://softwarengameslinkshere.blogspot.com/2009/01/dlc-fallout-3-downloadable-content.html)

Welcome to the games business. :D Sony used to do this all the time, too, when PS2 was huge. Unfortunately for them, with PS3 lagging behind they don't have the market clout to realistically push for exclusives.

Anchorage will disappoint you, there is no open exploration in that one. Broken Steel is the best, but the Pitt is pretty cool cuz you get to make your own ammo.

Anchorage: A little more strategic. Play back before the nukes falling via a simulation. It's a strict campaign where you play as a USA soldier liberating Anchorage Alaska from the red chinese. It was fun and important because once you beat it you get super awesome T-51 Winterized armor which never needs to be repaired. (armor has 48 pts, helmet has 12).

Pitt: Help (or hurt) the oppressed slaves of The Pitt (which was Pittsburgh, PA). A relatively long, open campaign. No matter how you win it (there are 3 ways), you get to make your own BULLET ammo.

Broken Steel: HOLY CRAP ITS AWESOME! Full expansion. Broken steel extends the level cap from 20 to 30... gives you lots of new perks, and changes the ending. SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER: INSTEAD OF DYING AT THE END THE CAMPAIGN IS EXTENDED. 6 NEW, FUN QUESTS.
New weapons too, and a few new dialogue options with 3 dog.

UPCOMING:
Point Lookout: Play in Point Lookout, Maryland, untouched by nukes.
June 23, 2009 for PC and XBOX
PS3 a few weeks later

Mothership Zeta: Will follow the main character after being abducted by aliens when going to explore a mysterious radio transmission from the Alien Crash Site. It will take place entirely on an alien spacecraft.
Late July, 2009 for PC and XBOX
PS3 a few weeks later

Just got the Point Lookout addon, I have to say its quite difficult with my lvl 27 char. But then again I only took one gun and my armor and a couple stimpaks. I figured it would be like all the other addons where you have to give up ur stuff, but no.
