I have two teams that are in the red -- I joined late, after they were picked clean by trading with the computer manager. Now, both teams have no spending - zero - for scouting, minor and medical staff. I cannot change it. They are stuck on zero. These teams are headed for total colapse and I can do nothing about it.

just percevere and change the broadcast to PPV and adjust your ticket price so that you have the highest limit. I have so much cash in my leagues I offered cash for FREE to the poor teams but no one has emailed me so it just shows how inactive people are.
Ummmmmm what leagues ya in ?????
My twins could use some ............

Hey, if the Gods(Clay, James, ect.) are lisgtening. A "special" league for the guys actually posting here would be good. It would give a greast test of the game. I know I see the same 10 - 15 people post all the time. I am sure there are a few more. This would give a better test of the system. Higher activity.

I tried upping my ticket price to the max as was suggested -- I drew 670 fans. And my team is in first place. Very bad.
I took over a Montreal team 70 points in the hole. I can't sign FAs, I can't scout, I can't develop minor leaguers, I can't keep my cheap young talents with contracts coming up, and I will suffer many injuries because I cannot even hire a trainer.
I could try to trade for guys who are locked up but with no scouting I am likely to make bad deals.
I have turned the team around to where it will make a small profit this year, but it would take 10 years to get out of debt -- IF I could keep winning, which won't be possible.
In reality, new owners have the option of investing more money. This game, as it is, seems to put small market teams in an impossible position for those who take-over a bad team.

What I meant was change your ticket price so that your limit which is with budget and payroll is at its highest. Also have PPV broadcast. If yo uare rebuilding cut your whole teams salaries and save up some cash then pay for scouting and be smart. Its not hard to run a small market team I am doing so and making a huge profit. I shouold look for another one to fix.

Cutting payroll isn't as easy as it sounds, if you do not have any cash to buy out contracts with, and no one in your league wants any of your players.
Rebuilding from that situation could be quite the challenge.

Yeah, pretty much the only thing you can do is wait for all the big contracts to expire, or dump all the big contracts on another computer manager.

Release all yuour players in the final year of their contract so youo dont have to pay them.

Yes,
But if someone before you has signed everyone to 7 year deals, it's going to be a while before you can do that. I've seen at least one team like that.
Or if you inherit Manny Ramirez, A. Rod, or someone else with a long term, mega buck deal, you are going to be swimming in red by the time you can let them go. Assuming no one trades you for them.

I'm making 7 points per year, trying to make up the -71 I started with. My players are getting injured, so I probably can't keep competitive. I traded for younger players to build with, but I will start losing them. As my team goes back to losing because I have no healthy players, my attendance will further drop and I go further into a whole.
I tried increasing ticket price, but adding 10% took attendance down by more than 10%. Revenue dropped.
I think I have only one player priced at over 30. I'll start losing my good 1 point players befor I can drop him.
No way I would pay to play the game like this. Your hands are so tied and every is set to zero so the team will wither away. I don't know what the answer is, but

if you paid you wouldn't be in this situation. that's why this is a beta.
my suggestion is to join one of the new leagues starting and get a fresh start. keep the other teams as a project. that way you get some satisfaction from competing and it might give you some patience to wait out the other bad teams

well you have lots of learn about the game then.
I had a pitcher playing for 4 points who won 45 straight games. I signed another pitcher for 1 point who went 18-0 after signing him. My team had a .900 record with a payroll of 300 points.

Hopefully, this kind of situation will not persent itself once people have to actually pay to play the game. However, with 30 players, there is a good chance that you are going to get at least one bad apple who decides that he cannot wait to ruin it for someone else.
For that reason, I think it would be a good idea to build in further restrictions in order to make sure that a team does not end up in this position in the first place.
Unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions at the moment.....
Although, I think that some form of automatic cutting lose of high priced players might not be all bad.......
