Are your announcers really such douche bags?

Here are some of the things that the Reds announcers have said...

"Gardner is the leadoff man for the Yankees."
"Melky is a bad defensive outfielder."
"Melky can flat out rake..."

"Both teams have what should pretty much be their starting lineup on the field today.":confused::confused:

Gardner CF
Swisher LF
Teixeira 1B
Posada C
Nady DH
Cabrera RF
Ransom 3B
Berroa SS
Pena 2B

I feel bad for Reds fans......

Gardner is the leadoff man for the Yankees.
Melky Cabrera is a pretty bad defensive outfielder.

I don't get what the issue is.

No, he's not.

Melky Cabrera is a pretty bad defensive outfielder.
No, he isn't. Nor can he "rake."

Reds announcers are pretty much douchebags. They're part of the reason why Adam Dunn was so maligned.

Haha wow...

Damon is the leadoff man... Gardner will be hitting 9th.
Melky is a good defensive outfielder.

Jeter, actually.

Melky is a good defensive outfielder.
I don't know about "good." Watching him gave me mixed signals...and the defensive stats are also mixed on him. I wouldn't call him "bad" though.

I still don't believe that Joe will be hitting Jeter ahead of Damon... I mean, I see the logic... It'd keep Jeter from grounding into so many DP's. I mean, Jeter could leadoff, but I have always pictured him as the perfect #2 hitter.

Well, all indications are that Jeter is their leadoff man, at least at the start of the season.

Either way it not Gardner! :)

"Melky can flat out rake..."

Perhaps they were referring to his ability to help out the grounds crew?

Announcers butcher things about teams from the opposite league all the time in ST. Every time my Royals play a NL team, they ask where Mike Sweeney is, they call Tony Pena Jr. our starting SS, and they try to figure out how to pronounce Joakim Soria's name and wonder when he'll be called up from the minors. Then they look at the numbers/rosters....and then they move on to a different topic.

Priceless :D

So far this spring the worst crew I've heard on MLB.com is the White Sox crew. They were talking about the weirdest things and didn't know what was going on. After the 4th inning they didn't do any more play by play till the 9th inning. I was just thinking "Uhh..I want to know what's happening..I don't care about what's going on in your life".

Lol, it still just boggles my mind... Melky brings in 2 runs and the Reds announcers were like... Whoa! "This kid fan flat out rake", lol.
