Has anyone been to the new park?

don't get me wrong here, its a cathedral and some great things about it. superb sightlines, quality food and shops (albeit all in the lower levels near the big shots), and a massive jumbotron.

A few points;

- It feels like an old italian family home where they have plastic on the furniture...way too pristine and overdone. It doesn't feel like baseball.

- Way too much emphasis given to white collar upper class, and SHAMEFULLY not to the middle class that really carry the yankee torch.

- Stupid rules! My 5.5 month pregnant wife wasn't allowed to sit in a completely empty section under canopy during a lengthy rain delay a month ago. They also rejected an elderly man. Why in the world would you not have some common sense and let them take a breather when there's litterally nowhere else to sit under cover in the stadium? At least they were cool and made a nice gesture after she phoned and complained the next day.

Finally, and MOST SIGNIFICANTLY...

WTF IS UP WITH THE SUPER-STRETCH HIGHWAY THEY MAKE YOU RUN ACROSS??? Those who have parked in the new parking garage adjacent to the park should know what i'm talking about. There is no raised walkway like the old stadium, just a large crosswalk in 5 way intersection with multi-lanes in each direction. Its literally a 100 yard gallop you must make to cross this highway and you aren't even half way before the crosswalk tells you to stop. The locals are upset with the delays, and rev their engines as you're running across and quickly jump on their gas pedal when the lights turn green. Its FROGGER!! People playing games trying to avoid the cars and bounce their way safely across the street. Tell me i'm not hte only one to experience this yet.:eek::confused:

That's part of the GreeNYC program. It's supposed to encourage you to use public transportation.

I suppose, strictly speaking, an ambulance would be considered "public transportation".
