12.12 Expenses change every few days

At the beginning of the season, under League Settings, I changed my Scouting Staff to "Perfect", although that may have nothing to do with this bug.

Because of that, I zeroed out Scouting in my expenses, since I have no need to spend money on it. My farm system ranking is #1, and I stay in the top 5-10 on Medical Staff ranking.

I sim day by day, and every five or six days, my expenses automatically change. I end up being ranked #6 or 7 for everything. I DON'T have the box checked to let the computer set my expenses.

This isn't that big of a deal, EXCEPT it takes almost two minutes to get my expenses back to their desired level (mainly zeroing out my scouting expenses again). It takes one second to scroll every $100,000, and when you're at $10-$15,000,000, that's upwards of two minutes just scrolling.

This could be alleviated by having the expenses "scroll" faster than they do, similar to contract negotiations. If you hold down the up or down arrows during a contract negotiation, after a few seconds, it starts scrolling much faster. Could this be done for the expenses as well?

But this is still a bug -- you are saying that your scouting expenses don't stay at zero, correct? If it's just your "arms race" position that's changing, then of course allowing you to type in a number or select 2nd, 3rd, etc. would be great but if the computer is actually changing how much you're spending that's a bug.

I haven't seen this in 2.5 seasons running 12.08, so I suspect it's a bug with the perfect scouting. And, as has been mentioned elswehere, I assume the AI does not zero out scouting when you select perfect or equal scouting.

Yes, it changes how much I spend. My scouting expenses end up over $10,000,000, which is the main culprit since I had it zeroed out. I check everything daily, and make sure I maintain my positions (such as if I drop to 2nd in farm system spending I increase it enough where I'm back in 1st), and it's a fairly consistent schedule of when it happens in the game.

Perhaps BECAUSE it is perfect scouting it requires you to spend a certain amount?

That would be reasonable, and of course every team should be so required; but if it's allowing you to change it to below the required amount that's wrong.
