i just traded like 6 good rookies and 30 points to S.D. for...NOTHING! i got an error message back the first time i offered it that said that S.D. couldn't take another pitcher. So i repackeged it a little and resent it, but i didn't notice that i hadn't re-clicked the player on their team that i wanted. Needless to say they were more than happy to accept my trade!

is there any way to nullify that trade?

of course not, providing there was MEAT in the burger. What i did was an accident. I certainly didn't want to give those players away.

If this was a computer you traded them to, you may be screwed. Otherwise, the moderators may be able to take control of the team and trade the player(s) back to you.

The lesson to be learned is be more careful when trading. Ive done the same thing too. Just go on from the mistake and rebuild your tema. This is only a fantasy league its not real life.

Yeah, I used to do this all the time when I first started playing.... I haven't done it in a while though now that I've actually started reading the "Are you sure?" screen. Well look on the bright side, at least you dumped salary for the Free Agent season.

Heh. I've gotten to the same point [reading VERY carefully over the "Are you sure?" screen] after having done the same thing 2-3 times now.

General scenario: a bit after 2AM . . . TRYING to trade for that one guy I really want . . . "dang it! you JUST said add a rookie and you'll do it!@#$$@!!" . . . "alright, this is my 14th and LAST try" . . . *forget to click on <fill in player's name> name* . . . "YAY! the darn thing accepted!!!" . . . "hmmmm, i'm not seeing him on my roster" . . . . . . . . . . . . wail/whine/scream/cry follows. :)

Can you tell me exactly which players you traded, how much money, and in what online league?

And, of course, what team are you? (You traded the players to San Diego, right?)

This is just a question, I am not complaining.........

If you go back an fix the team ( I think you should) is that a one time deal ? or will something like that be offer to everyone when this goes main stream ?

because i know i've done it 1-2 times and i'll bet everybody has and you haven't fixed it for me or any of them. I'm not complaining mind you if you do fix it however i think you're opening a whole new can of worms if you do fix it. Anyway maybe you could fix the computer gm to not accept something for nothing...just a thought:p

Sorry, Phlint -

I'm afraid I can't help you. It's past the trading deadline in the game, so I can't trade the players back to you.

And some people were wondering whether I should unwind this trade at all -- well, I think we should not penalize people more than necessary for their mistakes.

Yes, you are right that we might get inundated with requests from other players who want their bad trades fixed. But ultimately we hope to offload this responsibility to independent league administrators.

So if people really want a mistake fixed, I don't see anything wrong with helping out where we can.

How would I become an independent league administrator? I am super active with my leagues and since its so much work getting you guys to remove GM's is there anyway active people on the messageboard could become these so they can help fix their own and/or other leagues.

When we start allowing user-created leagues, the person who creates the league will be the default administrator.

That person will have some special abilities, such as being able to rename teams, remove GMs, etc. We haven't quite finished the list of their "special powers".

Will this be part of the pay leagues though? In my leagues about 5-10 GM's havent even logged in in the past 14 days. I wouldnt mind seeing them get booted.

James Grove

Yes, and no.

Our current hesitation is that if we allow just anybody to create new leagues, we will be inundated with new leagues from people who aren't serious about playing.

So we are trying to find ways to limit the number of new leagues created until we go to the pay model. At that point we don't care if our users create new leagues, because they will be paying for them.

I just want to be able to manage Fast Sim 10, 11 and 36 and remove all the inactive GM's. There really isnt much of a need to start leagues when the people who want to join can join teams that would be vacant. I am very serious about operating a league thats why I have the most posts.
