View Full Version : [12.12] Pitcher's stats don't update after he pitches.

This has happened twice to me, and both times to a pitcher formerly in the minors who is added to the roster in September when the rosters expand. I will use him in a game (play-by-play, manager mode) and while he's pitching his pitch count does not increment. Stays at 0 the entire time he pitches. Then, after the game, he is not credited in the box score (there is just a missing inning in the pitchers' line scores), and his personal stats are not updated. His games pitched stat is incremented, but no other stats update. Also, this only happens with the bottom pitcher listed in the bullpen section of the expanded roster. For example, in the "pitching" attachment below, it would be Jay Marshall. You can also see in the "box score" attachment how my team (Memphis) pitched 9 innings in the line score up top, but the pitching section at the bottom only shows 8, with Jay Marshall, who pitched in this game, not appearing. Thanks.

Look at the box score. As you can tell, the Monarchs are the home team. Now look at the pitchers line thing at the bottom. You see that they combined to pitch 8 innings. So where did that 9th inning go? As the OP said earlier, Jay Marshall, a September call-up, pitched an inning of relief. The box score did not record this so therefore, you are missing an inning in the box.

I see the error the pitchers combined for 8 innings even tho there is supposed to be another pitcher for the 9th.

BUMP these
I'm having the same problem.
When rosters are expanded AND you have increased the number of pitchers on your roster from the default then pitchers who are in the bottom slots don't get listed in the box score.
Pretty serious bug, IMO

Bump this due to pitcher/hitter ratio issues

Happened to me for the first time today in Sept using 18 Pitchers

Noticed this today as well with my expansion team in v. 13.05.
I experimented a little and it only seems to affect pitchers in the generic "Bullpen" slots on the 40-man roster. It doesn't always happen, but it does often.
Also I just noticed that Jai Miller is listed as P, although he was my DH.

Seems pretty big if September callup pitchers aren't having their stats recorded in PBP games.
Do they get stats recorded in simmed games?

I just simmed the rest of September, and it doesn't look like any of the September callup pitchers were used at all.

Just noticed something interesting... I tried starting my last bullpen pitcher on the last day of the season by selecting him on the Starting Pitcher screen (PBP mode), and it kinda screwed up the computer's team (Royals). They started Gil Meche (their #3 starter), who also started the day before, and threw 122 pitches, but I think when I selected Ring as my starter it caused them to start Meche again.
Neither starter got any stats for this game, and Meche also made an error which is recorded in the box score as "XXXX XXXXXXXX".

I've noticed this too. These seem to be the same pitchers that if simming don't get used at all. I use them as an extra expanded pitcher roster (Icall up very few position players). If you have too many pitchers there is a big big problem.

Pretty serious bug, IMOBump. This explains the problem perfectly.

I can confirm that if you have the normal split of batters/pitchers in September (23/17), the stats for the September call-up pitchers do accrue. As filihok stated, this is only if you're using an increased number of pitchers (haven't checked a decreased number of pitchers).
