I have never really done any leagues before....but the best and i like playing, but it takes us forever to get through any seasons because of all the time we take together looking through free agents, trades etc....

anyway he and i can play on seperate computers on my internet or server in my office and play more quickly together in the same dynasty's?

You can have it where the other person can see your desktop thanks to www.vyew.com and that might help

Or you could just access their comp via remote desktop as long as you know their IP address. ;)

You can go to www.vyew.com and it will allow you to see the other players desktop and you can tell him what you want him to do

Get two different computers and install Baseball Mogul on both of them. You and TheBest could just sit next to each other and play at the same time. Not the same game/sim, but you could play and critique and encourage each other.

This is an excellent question and I would love to see this change in the future! In other words can you share the league file over a server or even the internet? Currently I do beleive you can. But this is over do. Besides the way online leagues currently do it, you'd think there would be a way to simoultanously play online with someone using the CD version?

Does anyone know if you can do this in OOTP?

I do remember another user e-mailing the file back and forth with a friend, but there should be a better way?

Jeffy25

we are wanting to be able to do this through both OOTP and Mogul....but emailing is a very long process, where one of us would be able to do all the simming, and the other file is just for making changes and looking through the game and then emailing what changes need to be made.

it's more fun to compete against each other in the same sim.

all these file sharing programs don't seem to work that well.

Let me know if you find anything? I agree that it would be nice to play head to head without being on the same computer.

Did you ask this question in OOTP?

Jeffy25

The best feature Mogul has for this is the ability to 'Export Team Files'. So one user has the master database and the other sends him team files indicating his changes. Then the league 'commissioner' sims a period of time (say, a week) and posts the ".mog" file somewhere that the 2nd user can download it and open it.

BTW, Diamond Mind Baseball does have a feature that lets you play head-to-head. But Diamond Mind doesn't have any GM features. So the head-to-head play is just INSIDE one specific baseball game. That is, one player can control the offense while the other player (over the internet) controls the defense, and vice versa.

OOTP doesn't have the head-to-head features you are looking for either. But it does have the ability to do pretty much what Baseball Mogul does. That is, one player can be the commissioner and import changes from other team owners. However, unlike Baseball Mogul, the entire league database doesn't fit in one ".mog" file, so it's more cumbersome to share the results with other players.

no to get it in the game you put it in your game folder and then go back to advanced tools and click import team files

Jeffy25

that doesn't seem to do it, it is automatically importing a non existing file and i am given no options to fix this.

sorry to keep asking

put into my game folder?

the best and i still need help with this....exporting a game file that is saved onto an email that he can upload on his own computer at home.....this would be our ideal situation. can it be done? i appreaciate Clay helping, but either through user error, or not understanding, we can't get it done.
