Playing a game of BBM 2k9 set in 1974, everytime I click on a players name I get this rather loud and annoying beep. I have gone to tools, options and turned all the sounds off and it still does it. How can I lose these beeps?

Mute your computer?

It's not the game that is doing it. It's a process in the computer that is doing it. If you listen closely I believe it comes from the tower itself

I don't think it should do this. Must be something with your PC. Doesn't for me anyway.

Does the scouting report or dialog box still open?

You might try going to sounds in your control panel. Go to the beep sound and disable it. That might work.

There's something really wrong with your computer if the pc speaker is beeping when you click on something. I don't think this is an issue with the game. I'm not sure what operating system you're using? Is it XP or Vista? Either way though, the pc speaker can be killed using device manager by disabling the system speaker driver. This will disable the beep that comes from inside your computer. Your normal sound which comes through your speakers will still be fine. I feel this is more like fixing the symptom though instead of the true cause which seems to me to be more of a hardware issue.

Go into Control Panel then open Sounds and Audio Devices.

At the pop-up window select the tab marked Sounds.

In the lower box called Program Events, scroll down until you see the event called Select. Click on Select, then chose the option None in the Sounds drop-down box below.

You'll no longer get the chime sound effect when you left click on the players.

This event is usually off by default, so either another program you used assigned the "ding" sound to it, or someone with access to your computer is messing with you.
