I find it puzzling that one feels the need to make such an announcement. If you want to leave this (or any) forum, just go. Nobody really cares. On 2 or 3 occasions I was absent from this forum for several months. I saw no need to make an issue of it. I just stopped posting/reading at this site. Most likely no one really noticed, and almost certainly no one cared anyway.

Seems to me that by making a big deal out of your impending absence is just a play for attention.
