Thanks for that account, Wass...I think that Mosley is on the way down, and he
versus Mayweather not an attractive bout.

Wow, after all the advertising ESPN and others did to promote this fight and Marquez just gets his butt kicked? Sucks for the people who paid to see it.

That's why he's called Floyd "Money" Mayweather: he is quite simply the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world today.

...And do you know, Rage, spokesmen for the cage-fighting fraternity, sneer at his ability as a "dancer"? 'Course, such spokesmen have an agenda -they want you to watch their sport, instead.

What amazes me about cage-fighting, is how often their protagonists get knocked down compared to boxers.

One of the reasons they get knocked down more is the gloves they wear.

Another reason is that boxers do not have to worry about being kicked or taken down.

And they have to train more than just striking with their hands.

If boxing were better organized and consolidated, it would be WAY better than MMA. MMA is alright, but their fights often end so quickly b/c of one punch....or they just hold each other on the ground and grapple for position. Watching the same knockout over and over gets old.

And because they get taken down with jujitsu moves. ;)

For me, the grappling and ground game are the best parts. But having an interest in and understanding of wrestling, judo, and jiu jitsu helps. I would love to see someone who was really good at aikido in the ring, but it goes against their philosophy.

Plus I grew up watching boxing in the late 70s and the 80s, and I think that is why modern boxing, as a whole, is something I do not find interesting.

The only reason boxing isnt as good as it used to be is because it lacks a heavyweight that knocks out people. You guys talk about seeing the same knockouts all the time, thats when boxing was at the top, when Mike Tyson was knocking out people left and right.
