But then why is that even though I live 48 miles from Gilette Stadium, I can't watch the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS on TV?!?

I'm stuck choosing between the Jets and Giants -- two teams from NEW JERSEY (133 miles away)!

Too many Yankees fans to be considered New England.Anything north or east of Hartford is most definitely Red Sox Nation. And way up here in the "Quiet Corner", we tar and feather any Yankee fans we find.

Sir K's probably right. As I recall when I lived in Hartford, it was ALWAYS Giants and Jets, almost never the Pats unless they were, for example, the 4:00 game while the NYJ played at 1.

Either that or the Pats are once more screwing over Hartford. :still hasn't forgiven Kraft for a few years ago:

In KC we always get the Rams games (and only the Rams games) if they are the 3:15 set of games

I think it's the same basic problem. I live between Boston and Hartford so I get 2 CBS stations and 2 NBC stations, but only one Fox station.

yea from what I remeber That was the deal, we had 1 NBC station that was New york based and one that was Boston based ..

The best was when there were 3 games on TV at once (way back in the day before NFL packages!)

while surely not the primary reason, i'm positive that some of the local support remains cold to the Patriots for what Kraft did using CT for leverage. The networks will play what earns them the most ratings/money....

I agree with this totally! When I drive up to Massachusetts to visit my family and once I hit Hartford and either head towards Springfield MA (North) or Boston MA (East), all of a sudden I am finally able to listen to the local Boston sports radio station WEEI (Even though I had been in "New England" for over an hour).
Also while I was in college, I met a ton a people from Connecticut and not one of them liked any New England teams. They were all New Jersey or New York fans. Total disgrace to New England. That is why I started not considering parts of connecticut to be apart of New England. I voted New Jersey!
