The Honduras de facto governement declared yesterday an estado de sitio (state of siege, or emergency), shutting down two news outlets, giving the power to the army and police to arrest anyone against the government and suspending the constitutional rights of all its citizens for 45 days, including the freedom of speech, freedom of the press and freedom of movement.
In English (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/29/world/americas/29honduras.html?_r=1&hp), Spanish (http://www.elheraldo.hn/Ediciones/2009/09/28/Noticias/Estado-de-excepcion-en-Honduras), and French (http://www.cyberpresse.ca/international/amerique-latine/200909/28/01-906109-le-honduras-restreint-des-libertes-civiles.php)
Don't know if I'll be staying much longer here, even if I want to badly. The Canadian government is working on its evacuation procedures right now...

Stay safe!
It's a tough dilemma: save my a$$ or continue to work with the campesinos, who are only getting poorer with this crisis.
Just don't know what to do...

This is a problem, since the government now prohibits any reunion or groups of 5 or more people.
But thanks for the advice, I left the office and am now at home. Just bought food, water, beer, wine and rum...just in case!
Thanks for your support everybody, you're a cool bunch of guys to talk with during such a crisis!
