I used to. The whole superstar rules thing turned me off, as did a lot of the antics that went along with the NBA. I still kinda like NCAA basketball.

College basketball is fan-freaking-tastic.
NBA....playoffs can be okay. Regular season is a gigantic waste of time. If the NBA would cut the # of playoff berths in half, thereby creating some actual fight for the playoffs spots..then it would be a lot better. As is, it's just a giant tickle fight for seeding..even mediocre teams that can barely touch .500 are guaranteed a spot pretty much.

agree fully with Kodiaks' sentiments.
I enjoy shooting some hoops, but I don't really care much for it as a spectator sport.

I shoot hoops all I can during the summer and referee every weekend during the season.
I always lose big time in NCAA tourney pools. I love watching old 90's NBA on ESPN Classic, too.

I like it. However, my problem with the NBA is that it's so hard to become good quickly and there is little to no parity.
Unless you get a top pick and get a franchise changer like LeBron or Howard, you aren't going to be getting better very quickly thanks to the salary cap and guaranteed contracts. As a Sixer fan, we haven't had a top 5 pick since 1997 and haven't had a top 10 pick since we drafted Iguodala. Signing Elton Brand has not looked too good (although he's looked great this preseason).
But, the fact that I know that my team will only be able to finish somewhere from 4-8 and will likely not make it out of the 1st round is kind of depressing. I also know that the Lakers, Hornets, Nuggets, and Spurs will be somewhere 1-5 in the West and that the Celtics, Cavs, and Magic will be the top 3 teams in the East. The NBA needs a new CBA, one that either loosens the salary cap's stranglehold or minimizes guaranteed contracts.

College basketball is awesome. The NBA sucks and much of that has to be credited to David "Bribes accepted here!" Stern. I'm pretty sure that all sports fans who liked the Sonics at all hate him. And for a good reason, too.

I like both college basketball and the NBA. But I really don't get too into the NBA until the playoffs.
