When I draft 1st rounders I generally sign them to 6 or 7 year contracts. However, after their 2nd year the contract length goes to one and if I don't resign them they are a free agent. Not sure why this is happening? Prime example was I drafted Ken Anderson after the 1970 season to a 7 year contract. After 1972 he wanted a new contract already!

I've been trying like crazy to replicate this bug, with the 2009 Cardinals, and with the 1970 Green Bay Packers. I play 3-4 seasons and everything is fine.
Did this happen in 8.050?
Has anyone else seen this?

Yes 8.050 and I started in the 70's. It's very consistent.

When I download your ".mog" file and run it through the end of the 1972 season into 1973, using 8.050, Anderson's contract length goes from 6 to 5 -- as it should.
I renewed all players with Overall ratings of 75 or higher, and then I just drafted the highest 'Peak' rating with each pick and accepted the default signing contract.
There must be something different you are doing.

When I initially drafted Anderson I had to resign him after his second season. Most draft picks are asking for a new contract after 2 years for some reason?
