Roster size-This needs to be fixed ASAP. A 53 man roster would go a long way towards making trading realistic. It would also simulate the tough decisions that NFL coaches have to make regarding personnel. With a 100 man limit, you never have to choose between a guy that's a 72/72 or 62/82 for that backup spot. I'd say let the roster be as big as you want in the offseason, but by opening day, it needs to be down to 53.

Positions-There should be a minimum number of players at each position. For example, 3 QB, 3 RB, 1 FB, 5 WR...etc. Then the last X number of roster spots can be whatever you want.

Preseason-I can't decide if I want a week by week preseason or something similar to Spring Training in Baseball Mogul. Either way, this would be a good time to evaluate talent, suffer a few injuries, and have some talent added to the free agent market via cuts.

Depth Chart-This is a necessity. I like the way EA Sports does it in their NCAA game. It lists all the non starters on the roster and what their rating would be at that position. Combine that with the Mogul interface and you'd have one sweet aspect of the game. I really think this could help out with the AI decision as well. They'd know exactly who they are replacing and how that would affect the rest of the team.

Week By Week Offseason-As it is, you get one shot to sign free agents, then you draft, then you start the season. I'd like the offseason to play more like Baseball Mogul.

Free Agent Negotiaion-I love the simplicity of Mogul, so I don't want to change the basic premise. The problem I have is, in the demo I ran, half the players I cut never made to the free agent market. They were scooped up by a computer team before I had a chance to see who was available. I wonder how often this happens with AI cuts? The argument is going to be that the human gets to go first so that's a huge advantage, but I think the easy workaround is to make the starting demands higher. So high that no team would sign then in the first week of the offseason. Then you work the price down week by week. So the human gets first crack at the highest price, but the AI gets first crack as the price comes down.

As an example, let's say a player is "worth" $10 MM. His opening price is $20 MM. The human decides whether or not he wants to sign that player. If he doesn't, the price in week 2 would be $18 MM. If the computer is willing to pay over that, they will sign them during that week. If not, now the human gets to decide at that price. This goes on and on until the player has signed.

Kick Returners-I'd like to see them get their own position. At the very least, when I'm scouting the WR in the draft, I need to have some way to know who is getting improved value (if not all of their value) from being a kick returner and who is purely a WR.

I am having trouble drafting returners in the draft. I should have plenty to choose from?

I wish there were more BM features in FM!

The problem for me is I can't tell who returns and who doesn't without digging deep into the player profile. I'm not sure about scarcity. All I know is, if I have one, I don't want another. I had never thought about the flip side of the problem. If I don't have one, I'd like to be able to know who to draft to fill that spot.

As for kick returners, how come fullbacks can be returners but safeties can't?
