hey guys. i just recently got Norton AntiVirus and it found a file that contained some Benjamin Worm. when it asked me what to do, i said to delete it. then it said it couldn't. so i tried to delete it manually but my computer tells me that it cannot delete the file because access is denied. how can i delete this virus infected file? any help please??? i know this is not what this board is for but i don't know where else to turn and i know some of you have good computer knowledge. i'd be even happy if you told me of a message board that did deal with this stuff. thanks for taking the time to read this.

The virus most likely runs at startup and you won't be able to delete the virus while it is running. You will need to go into the registry and delete the line item that triggers the virus, you also may need to delete it from your win.ini file (it would probably appear after the line "run=". Then restart your computer and delete the actual file with the virus.

thanks for your help. it actually worked. i had to search for it on the registry but after doing a little infestigatin on other message boards that i found, it was easy. thanks for replying.
