I think we should add something like the pace thing, so we kinda know how many home run will my guys finsih after the year, and the avg. they are gonna hit.
I am not bashing.......but just saying........
Why ?
I'm a stat man myself but with a click of the button an some simple math I can figure out what my SB,HR,RBI, an Avg will be.

I dont really think this is worth spending clay's time on really, but if you want to figure out what how many hr sb rbi etc a player or team will get, use this equation:
162/# of games played and multiply by the stat you want to find.
ex. a player has 13 HR through 63 games.
take (162/63)*(13)
this player is on pace to hit about 33 homeruns by the end of the season.
As far as AVG goes, it is an average of earlier performances that year. And in making predictions you assume that the player will play at the same rate that he has the rest of the season (ie will get the same rate of hits per at bat). Therefore his average would stay constant if he was expected to play at the exact same level. In theory it makes sense, but we all know that players get hot (or play the cubies) or get hurt and their performance can deviate from the current averages. Therefore any tool to get predictions is not going to be accurate to a great degree.
Hope that helps explain a little,
Kyle

I agree that the current year information isn't necessary, but adding projections for free agents or rookies would be interesting. Something like Bill James' MLE (major league equivalencies) numbers for minor leaguers would also be helpful.
TGG,
I'm not bashing...but saying
HA!
How hard is it to project the batting average of a player by the end of the year?
