God it was a long time ago I recall somebody asking how they can change the ratio of Pitchers to Hitters in the draft, because every year for me its just a crazy amount of pitchers but really not much to choose from on the hitter side.
Is there a way to reduce the disparity? I know there is but I dont even know where to look or how to fix it.

Pitcher,100
Catcher,100
First Baseman,100
Second Baseman,100
Third Baseman,100
Shortstop,100
Left Fielder,100
Center Fielder,100
Right Fielder,100
Designated Hitter,100
Ok this is what I see, what should I reduce the Pitchers to? 50?

Rookies.ini adjusts the talent level, not the amount. There is no way to adjust the amount. If you adjust the pitchers level to 50, your amateur pitchers are going to be very poor. Lowering the talent level of pitchers below the position players, though, will get rid of the phenomenon of you seeing too many pitchers and not having enough hitters to choose from, since the ratings will be more evenly distributed rather than favor pitchers.

Ah. The way the draft goes I should take it down a little bit anyway. Im tweaking with this as well.

So far in 5 drafts the best position players in the draft are rated in the mid 80's, while there still remains a couple of 95 rated pitchers, (The likes of Don Sutton, Steve Carlton, etc.).
Some seasons there hasnt even been Position players with at least an 80 potential, (most notably Rod Carew). Its going to take a lot of adjusting to find the right balance.
My goal is for teams around the league to not all be rated 99 overall in 10 or so years and that has at least been successful. As there are only 4 teams rated above 90 after 5 years of play.

Those settings are going to have your overall's crashing to about 65 a few years after you'd normally be seeing everyone peak at 95's though. What you really need to do is once a year for about 4 or 5 years when you start, delete one 80-95 rated player/prospect off each team. Once the glut of incredible talent is gone, the draft just needs to be adjusted slightly downward

Rage, I'm wondering why my "League Settings" doesn't include that "Player Development" section, as shown in the top RH corner of your screenshot ...were you illustrating from BM2009, which I don't have...? (Mine is BM2010) ..or was it a patch, or an update or something, which I also do not have?

Rongola, I have 2K10 as well. Go to League and then Player Settings (like it says above his dialogue box) and you'll see the Player Development section in the upper right.

The thing is, Bing, I don't have a "Players Settings" within my League box...what I have, instead, is "League Settings" which doesn't contain either the "Generate New Player" button, nor the ability to change the potential/peak plateau/longevity cycle league -wide, as Rage's screenshot depicts.
No biggie, anyway, doubt if I would use this feature...thanks for the info, Bing
