When my team was leading in the 8th inning the computer manager made these defensive changes.
Mike Jackson came in to pitch for the Vipers.
Lance Berkman came in to play Left Fielder.
Roger Cedeno came in to play Left Fielder.
I understand bringing in a better defensive outfielder to play left field for Paul Konerko (whose glove is made of a different medal than gold). However, it looks like the computer goes to the first available player on the bench and checks if he is a better fielder. If so, the computer brings him in. However, after doing so the computer appears to immediately check again to see if there is a better fielder and if so brings that player in.
The computer manager should check to find the better defensive player before making any changes and only put that player into the game. The current situation wastes a player who could be a valuable pinch hitter latter if the game was to go to extra innings or something.
