Here is the line for the Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher on July 17, 2002 in FastSim 54.

Shaw IP 9.0 H 4 bb 0 hr 0 r 0 er 0 k 4 pit 109 ERA 0.79

As the manager and owner, I love this kind of performance, but there is something wierd. This pitcher is my closer, and has an endurance of F. How does a closer, with an endurance of F, start a game, and pitch a complete game, 4-hit shutout?

Terry Adams - long-time a closer prospect and a short reliever - has been averaging just over 6IP as a starter for the Dodgers with more than a few 7+ IP starts.

Can it what happened with your closer happen? Yes. Should he be able to do it consistently? No. If he continues to log big innings with an F endurance rating, then it'd be a major bug.

I heard that no matter what endurance rating the pitcher has, if he's pitching a great game they won't take him out. I read this in Baseball Mogul 2002 forum where a pitcher had over 200 career CG's and shutouts and 100's of no-hitters but a C endurance rating.
