It might be time to put a few of these beta leagues to bed. The two leagues I am in have more absentee owners then not. The statistics are as follows:
Beta 41
Of the 25 teams not computer run, the average owner has not logged on in the last 16 days!
We have 10 teams whose “cash” is running in the red at an average of –123 points PER TEAM. (I don’t know how these teams are going to dig themselves out of a hole THAT deep!)
Beta 76
Of the 29 teams not computer run, the average owner has not logged on in the last 15 days!
We have only 4 teams whose “cash” is running in the red, but at an average of –176 points PER TEAM. WOW! Additionally, this year’s profit projections show that when you remove Boston and Cleveland from the equation, the average team will post a loss of 29 points for the season!
With the limited interaction by many players, and the amount of teams in the red, I am not sure if Clay and Co. are really getting much relevant information from these leagues.
This sure seems like a waste of bandwidth and server hours in some cases. I think that would rather play in a league of computer managers, where I would have more of a chance to make change, then in a league of absentee owners.
Thanks!… Tim
