Found this on another website
1) Would you be willing to spend a night alone in a remote house that is supposedly haunted, just for the sake of it? (knowing nothing more about the history of the house than that) There is no electricity though there is running water and other utilities, and you can bring your own flashlight and/or lantern and such. The nearest neighbors live 5 miles away.
Yes, that would be awesome.
2) If a new medicine were developed that would cure arthritis but cause a fatal reaction in 1% of those who took it, would you want it to be released to the public?
No, I would try to make it better before releasing it.
3) You discover that your wonderful one-year-old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital, not yours. What would you do? Would you want to exchange the child to try to correct the "mistake"?
I'll keep it but inform the other family of the situation.
4) Would you accept $1,000,000 in U.S. dollars (or the equivelant in whatever currency) to leave your country and never set foot in it again?
No.
5) Which gender do you think has it easier in our culture?
Male.
6) (For this question, if you're currently in a mate relationship then answer as if you were single) You have the chance to meet someone with whom you can have the most satisfying love imaginable -- the stuff of dreams. However, you know that in six months the person will have sex with someone else, and then when you eventually find out they will leave you for them and want nothing more to do with you. Knowing the pain that would follow, would you still want to meet the person and fall in love and experience the 6 months of bliss? You would forget your foreknowledge of the events in store for you, too.
No, that's lame.
7) If you knew of a way to use your estate, following your death, to greatly benefit all of humanity, would you do it and leave only a minimal amount (10%) to your family?
Yes, since if the world has to share 90% of the wealth, my family would be the most rich.
8) Would you be willing to murder an innocent person if it would 'somehow' end all hunger in the world?
No, wouldn't be able to live with it.
9) Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use, or be able to give $1000 anonymously to 100 strangers? You can't pick who it's given to, though you know that all of the people could really use the money.
Give $1000.
10) Would you be willing to give up half of what you now own (randomly selected) for a pill that would permanently change you so that one hour of sleep each day would fully refresh you?
Yes.
11) If the person you were engaged to marry had an accident and became a paraplegic, would you go through with the marriage or back out of it?
Marry.
12) You are offered $1,000,000 USD (or the equivalent in whatever currency) for the following act: Before you are ten pistols -- only one of which is loaded. You must pick up one of the pistols, point it at your forehead, and pull the trigger. If you can do this and walk away you do so a millionaire. Would you accept the risk?
No, I don't like guns, and I don't like suicide.
13) Someone very close to you is in pain, paralyzed, and you 'somehow' know for certain that they will die within a month. He begs you to give him a fast-acting, painless poison so that he can die. No one else would ever know. Would you?
Yes, I have no right to interfere with his/her choice.
14) If you could have free, unlimited service for five years from an extremely good cook, chauffeur, or masseuse, which would you choose?
Cook. Because food is awesome.
15) Do you feel ill at ease going out to see a movie by yourself?
No, did it once, it was awkward.
16) Do you feel ill at ease going out to dinner at a resturaunt by yourself?
No, every alone guy I see at a restaurant is creepy.
17) For $35,000 USD, would you go for three months without washing, brushing your teeth, or using deodorant? Assume you could not explain your reasons to anyone until after the three months is up.
No, because it reminds me of that Twilight Zone episode where the guy removes his vocal cords to win his bet of not speaking.
18) Would you be willing to have your left middle finger surgically removed if it 'somehow' guaranteed you immunity from all diseases?
Yes, then use my body as a possible way to spread the immunity to everyone else.
19) You 'somehow' know for certain that you will die of an incurable disease within three months. Would you allow yourself to be cryogenically frozen *within the week* if you knew it would give you a modest chance of being revived in 1,000 years and living a greatly extended life?
No, because of Cartman when he did that to himself.
20) You are leading 100 people in a survivalist situation, when suddenly your lives are in danger and you must choose between two courses of action. One would cause 10 of the people to die and everyone else would live, the other would have a 70% chance of saving everyone but were it to fail then everyone would die. Which would you choose?
70% chance, save all or none.

10 die. I'd rather have a few die then know that everybody else died because of my wrong choice.

1) Would you be willing to spend a night alone in a remote house that is supposedly haunted, just for the sake of it? (knowing nothing more about the history of the house than that) There is no electricity though there is running water and other utilities, and you can bring your own flashlight and/or lantern and such. Only if I've got a shot of getting laid. (With a living human being that is, no necrophilia or whatever that's called with ghosts)
2) If a new medicine were developed that would cure arthritis but cause a fatal reaction in 1% of those who took it, would you want it to be released to the public?
A 1-in-100 chance of dying is not worth having better joints.
3) You discover that your wonderful one-year-old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital, not yours. What would you do? Would you want to exchange the child to try to correct the "mistake"?
Nope. By then I would certainly made a fatherly bond with this specific child. I would sue the hospital though,
4) Would you accept $1,000,000 in U.S. dollars (or the equivelant in whatever currency) to leave your country and never set foot in it again?
Probably.
5) Which gender do you think has it easier in our culture?
Men.
At this point, I'm not exactly expecting a relationship that will last too much longer than 6 months, so why not?
7) If you knew of a way to use your estate, following your death, to greatly benefit all of humanity, would you do it and leave only a minimal amount (10%) to your family?
Depends on the circumstance my family is in when I write my will.
8) Would you be willing to murder an innocent person if it would 'somehow' end all hunger in the world?
Yes. It would be for the faaaaaar greater good.
9) Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use, or be able to give $1000 anonymously to 100 strangers? You can't pick who it's given to, though you know that all of the people could really use the money.
I'd take $10,000 right now.
I'd go through with the marriage. How shallow do you think I am?
12) You are offered $1,000,000 USD (or the equivalent in whatever currency) for the following act: Before you are ten pistols -- only one of which is loaded. You must pick up one of the pistols, point it at your forehead, and pull the trigger. If you can do this and walk away you do so a millionaire. Would you accept the risk?
Russian roulette is not fun. And no amount of money is worth such a high chance of death.
13) Someone very close to you is in pain, paralyzed, and you 'somehow' know for certain that they will die within a month. He begs you to give him a fast-acting, painless poison so that he can die. No one else would ever know. Would you?
Yes.
14) If you could have free, unlimited service for five years from an extremely good cook, chauffeur, or masseuse, which would you choose?
Cook. Because food is awesome. (The pres' answer was good enough for me! And now I'm hungry for gourmet food.)
15) Do you feel ill at ease going out to see a movie by yourself?
Never done it. Don't plan on it.
16) Do you feel ill at ease going out to dinner at a resturaunt by yourself?
Never done it. Don't plan on it. If I'm not sitting down with someone I'll get take out.
17) For $35,000 USD, would you go for three months without washing, brushing your teeth, or using deodorant? Assume you could not explain your reasons to anyone until after the three months is up.
No. Even if I could get away from anyone I know for three months, the effect on my teeth would be permanent, and likely the rest of my body too.
18) Would you be willing to have your left middle finger surgically removed if it 'somehow' guaranteed you immunity from all diseases?
Hell yes. You'd be stupid not take this deal.
19) You 'somehow' know for certain that you will die of an incurable disease within three months. Would you allow yourself to be cryogenically frozen *within the week* if you knew it would give you a modest chance of being revived in 1,000 years and living a greatly extended life?
No, I'd live those 3 months to the fullest around the people I love.
20) You are leading 100 people in a survivalist situation, when suddenly your lives are in danger and you must choose between two courses of action. One would cause 10 of the people to die and everyone else would live, the other would have a 70% chance of saving everyone but were it to fail then everyone would die. Which would you choose?
I would take the first option. Everyone gets a 90% chance at survival vs. a 70% chance of survival.

One would cause 10 of the people to die and everyone else would live, the other would have a 70% chance of saving everyone but were it to fail then everyone would die. Which would you choose?

I'll just answer #1
Yes, as long as there weren't any methed out hobos ready to stab me for my money.
We used to explore abandoned/"haunted" houses in high school. Never found anything but I learned real quick to stay calm. I think 99% of what happens in those houses is completely and totally inside your mind. You psyche yourself into thinking you saw something. If your calm inside, you won't "hear things" or "see flashes of something". Most of the night is kind of boring.
But I was terrified we would kick open a door and this crazy methed out homeless ******* would run out and stab us.

(knowing nothing more about the history of the house than that) There is no electricity though there is running water and other utilities, and you can bring your own flashlight and/or lantern and such. For nothing? No. For some cash, yeah.
2) If a new medicine were developed that would cure arthritis but cause a fatal reaction in 1% of those who took it, would you want it to be released to the public?
As long as it was made clear that 1% of the people who use it could have a fatal reaction, then yes. If not, then no.
3) You discover that your wonderful one-year-old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital, not yours. What would you do? Would you want to exchange the child to try to correct the "mistake"?
It really wouldn't be just my decision, but my preference would be to keep the child.
4) Would you accept $1,000,000 in U.S. dollars (or the equivelant in whatever currency) to leave your country and never set foot in it again?
Yes.
5) Which gender do you think has it easier in our culture?
Female.
Not worth the pain.
7) If you knew of a way to use your estate, following your death, to greatly benefit all of humanity, would you do it and leave only a minimal amount (10%) to your family?
Yes.
8) Would you be willing to murder an innocent person if it would 'somehow' end all hunger in the world?
Everyday, over 16,000 children die (http://www.bread.org/hunger/global/) due to hunger. So, yes, relectlantly I would.
9) Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use, or be able to give $1000 anonymously to 100 strangers? You can't pick who it's given to, though you know that all of the people could really use the money.
I would take the $10,000 for my own use (which doesn't preclude charitable use).
10) Would you be willing to give up half of what you now own (randomly selected) for a pill that would permanently change you so that one hour of sleep each day would fully refresh you?
No.
11) If the person you were engaged to marry had an accident and became a paraplegic, would you go through with the marriage or back out of it?
As much as I would like to say I'd go through with it, I probably would call it off.
Not for a million. For $100 million, though... maybe.
13) Someone very close to you is in pain, paralyzed, and you 'somehow' know for certain that they will die within a month. He begs you to give him a fast-acting, painless poison so that he can die. No one else would ever know. Would you?
Absolutely.

Nope.
17) For $35,000 USD, would you go for three months without washing, brushing your teeth, or using deodorant? Assume you could not explain your reasons to anyone until after the three months is up.
No bathing or using deodorant I could stand, but the teeth brushing I couldn't do.
18) Would you be willing to have your left middle finger surgically removed if it 'somehow' guaranteed you immunity from all diseases?
Yes.
19) You 'somehow' know for certain that you will die of an incurable disease within three months. Would you allow yourself to be cryogenically frozen *within the week* if you knew it would give you a modest chance of being revived in 1,000 years and living a greatly extended life?

I'd take the 90%.

20) You are leading 100 people in a survivalist situation, when suddenly your lives are in danger and you must choose between two courses of action. One would cause 10 of the people to die and everyone else would live, the other would have a 70% chance of saving everyone but were it to fail then everyone would die. Which would you choose?
70% chance.

You should have seen my first apartment....

Sure, let those who want to take the risk take it.

You would forget your foreknowledge of the events in store for you, too.
No, no point to that at all.
7) If you knew of a way to use your estate, following your death, to greatly benefit all of humanity, would you do it and leave only a minimal amount (10%) to your family?

no, in 1000 years everybody I know is long dead and I would be a freak show.
20) You are leading 100 people in a survivalist situation, when suddenly your lives are in danger and you must choose between two courses of action. One would cause 10 of the people to die and everyone else would live, the other would have a 70% chance of saving everyone but were it to fail then everyone would die. Which would you choose?
it depends, if you need all 100 to survive then you have to take the 70% chance, if you only need 89 to survive then you take the first course of action.

Ah, great thread. I was going to post a bunch of these before, but never got around to it. Keep 'em coming.
Yes, been there and done that plenty of times.
2) If a new medicine were developed that would cure arthritis but cause a fatal reaction in 1% of those who took it, would you want it to be released to the public?
Can I control which 1% has the fatal reaction? I'd go with President's answer and want to perfect it, but I'm assuming these questions present the best-case scenario already, in which case, I like those odds better than Vegas.
3) You discover that your wonderful one-year-old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital, not yours. What would you do? Would you want to exchange the child to try to correct the "mistake"?
I don't ever want children, but I don't remember anything at one year old, so sure, I'd exchange them.
4) Would you accept $1,000,000 in U.S. dollars (or the equivalent in whatever currency) to leave your country and never set foot in it again?
Yes, as long as relocation expenses are covered as well. I have a LOT of stuff.
5) Which gender do you think has it easier in our culture?
Dudes.
Hell yes. I'd probably end up doing the same thing to her eventually. I never plan for the future or worry about what's going to happen in a relationship six months down the line. So much can happen before then.
7) If you knew of a way to use your estate, following your death, to greatly benefit all of humanity, would you do it and leave only a minimal amount (10%) to your family?
No. "Humanity" had the choice to make other sacrifices at the expense of making more money, and they chose otherwise. If "humanity" is going to criticize my decision in life to equate my happiness with money and then expect me to "give back" when I pass on, no thanks. If I die today, my money will go to family, friends, and the charities and causes I've always supported.
8) Would you be willing to murder an innocent person if it would 'somehow' end all hunger in the world?
No, but not because I would have any moral qualms about "sacrificing" one life to end hunger in the world, but just because there are plenty of other issues before hunger I'd want "fixed" first. I don't have that world view to save humanity that most people have, but I'm sure some homeless liberal hippie living an all-natural existence would volunteer for it anyway.
9) Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use, or be able to give $1000 anonymously to 100 strangers? You can't pick who it's given to, though you know that all of the people could really use the money.
Although I don't support handouts, I'd rather be given $10,000. If we're all going to play the odds and go with chance, I hope I'm the one that wins.
10) Would you be willing to give up half of what you now own (randomly selected) for a pill that would permanently change you so that one hour of sleep each day would fully refresh you?
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. I've said for years that I wish there was a safe, healthy alternative to sleep. The amount of work I could do in that extra time (and the extra money that would be made) would easily buy back anything that I owned now.
11) If the person you were engaged to marry had an accident and became a paraplegic, would you go through with the marriage or back out of it?
We discussed this on another forum previously. Tough question. Part of me assumes that if I was crazy enough to get married or find somebody who made me think a monogamous lifestyle was attractive, then I would go through with the marriage, but I don't think I would honestly. I wouldn't expect her to go through with it either if I ended up the same way.
No, because:
A) I'm already getting $1,000,000 to leave the country.
B) I can't spend that $1,000,000 that I made if I'm dead.
C) There are plenty of ways to make that much money over a longer period of time.
13) Someone very close to you is in pain, paralyzed, and you 'somehow' know for certain that they will die within a month. He begs you to give him a fast-acting, painless poison so that he can die. No one else would ever know. Would you?
We do the same thing to animals that can't even speak to us to express their wishes, so undoubtedly yes.
14) If you could have free, unlimited service for five years from an extremely good cook, chauffeur, or masseuse, which would you choose?
I like good food, but it's harder to find a good masseuse, especially an attractive one.
15) Do you feel ill at ease going out to see a movie by yourself?
No, I do it all the time if nobody else can make it. If I want to see a movie or concert, I'm not going to miss it if I go alone or with 10 people.
16) Do you feel ill at ease going out to dinner at a resturaunt by yourself?
Same as above. I'd rather go to a movie or concert alone, but if I'm hungry or already made plans, I'm sticking with them.
(I think President misunderstood what "ill at ease" meant and probably answered the questions thinking it meant "at ease", answering "no" instead of "yes". "Ill at ease" means socially unsure or uncomfortable.)
17) For $35,000 USD, would you go for three months without washing, brushing your teeth, or using deodorant? Assume you could not explain your reasons to anyone until after the three months is up.
No, that's not close to being worth it, and if I really needed $35,000 that bad, there would be easier ways to make it.
18) Would you be willing to have your left middle finger surgically removed if it 'somehow' guaranteed you immunity from all diseases?
Definitely, especially if it meant I could prolong my life and/or live forever. I could just replace it with a hook or something cool.
19) You 'somehow' know for certain that you will die of an incurable disease within three months. Would you allow yourself to be cryogenically frozen *within the week* if you knew it would give you a modest chance of being revived in 1,000 years and living a greatly extended life?
Yes. I'm likely going to have it done when I die anyway, so if I knew my time was up, then I would make preparations to move forward with it.
20) You are leading 100 people in a survivalist situation, when suddenly your lives are in danger and you must choose between two courses of action. One would cause 10 of the people to die and everyone else would live, the other would have a 70% chance of saving everyone but were it to fail then everyone would die. Which would you choose?
Since there's no "every man for himself" option, and considering that both choices require me to be "comfortable" about other people dying (being that I would have be OK with and support a 30% chance of everybody dying if I chose the latter), I'd go with the decision where the least number of people would die... ten people.

Absolutely
2) If a new medicine were developed that would cure arthritis but cause a fatal reaction in 1% of those who took it, would you want it to be released to the public?
Yes, as long as it was clearly marked.
3) You discover that your wonderful one-year-old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital, not yours. What would you do? Would you want to exchange the child to try to correct the "mistake"?
Yes I would. I don't care how wonderful the kid is, I don't believe in making somebody else pay for my crappy genes.
4) Would you accept $1,000,000 in U.S. dollars (or the equivelant in whatever currency) to leave your country and never set foot in it again?
Yes. (Brazilian girls...)

Male.
6) (For this question, if you're currently in a mate relationship then answer as if you were single) You have the chance to meet someone with whom you can have the most satisfying love imaginable -- the stuff of dreams. $10,000!!
10) Would you be willing to give up half of what you now own (randomly selected) for a pill that would permanently change you so that one hour of sleep each day would fully refresh you?
I would give up everything I own (except my dogs).
No. Faced with the actual choice in front of me however...
13) Someone very close to you is in pain, paralyzed, and you 'somehow' know for certain that they will die within a month. He begs you to give him a fast-acting, painless poison so that he can die. No one else would ever know. Would you?

15) Do you feel ill at ease going out to see a movie by yourself?
No.
16) Do you feel ill at ease going out to dinner at a resturaunt by yourself?

I am kinda surprised at how many people would feel creeped out by these two questions. I was single for many years and learned to enjoy life by myself.
17) For $35,000 USD, would you go for three months without washing, brushing your teeth, or using deodorant? Assume you could not explain your reasons to anyone until after the three months is up.
Yes.
18) Would you be willing to have your left middle finger surgically removed if it 'somehow' guaranteed you immunity from all diseases?
Yes. I can salute crappy drivers with my right hand.
19) You 'somehow' know for certain that you will die of an incurable disease within three months. Would you allow yourself to be cryogenically frozen *within the week* if you knew it would give you a modest chance of being revived in 1,000 years and living a greatly extended life?
Yes. My curiosity of the future outweighs 3 more months of the present.

No. I'd be too scared honestly.
2) If a new medicine were developed that would cure arthritis but cause a fatal reaction in 1% of those who took it, would you want it to be released to the public?
Tell people about it, and let them make their choice.
3) You discover that your wonderful one-year-old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital, not yours. What would you do? Would you want to exchange the child to try to correct the "mistake"?
Can't even imagine what I'd do.
4) Would you accept $1,000,000 in U.S. dollars (or the equivelant in whatever currency) to leave your country and never set foot in it again?
No.
5) Which gender do you think has it easier in our culture?
Guys.
6) (For this question, if you're currently in a mate relationship then answer as if you were single) You have the chance to meet someone with whom you can have the most satisfying love imaginable -- the stuff of dreams. Agree with President. Sounds lame.
7) If you knew of a way to use your estate, following your death, to greatly benefit all of humanity, would you do it and leave only a minimal amount (10%) to your family?
Depends how well off my family is.
8) Would you be willing to murder an innocent person if it would 'somehow' end all hunger in the world?
Want to say yes. Would be tough when it came down to it.
9) Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use, or be able to give $1000 anonymously to 100 strangers? You can't pick who it's given to, though you know that all of the people could really use the money.
10 grand for me. I'm selfish.
10) Would you be willing to give up half of what you now own (randomly selected) for a pill that would permanently change you so that one hour of sleep each day would fully refresh you?
I don't think so. Maybe if I was able to pick the half of my possessions that I gave up. Random could make me lose my TV, laptop, phone, etc.
No, don't like the odds.
13) Someone very close to you is in pain, paralyzed, and you 'somehow' know for certain that they will die within a month. He begs you to give him a fast-acting, painless poison so that he can die. No one else would ever know. Would you?
I wouldn't be incredibly comfortable with it, but I think I would.
14) If you could have free, unlimited service for five years from an extremely good cook, chauffeur, or masseuse, which would you choose?
Cook.
15) Do you feel ill at ease going out to see a movie by yourself?
Never done it, but frankly it sounds a bit awkward.
16) Do you feel ill at ease going out to dinner at a resturaunt by yourself?
Sounds weird.
17) For $35,000 USD, would you go for three months without washing, brushing your teeth, or using deodorant? Assume you could not explain your reasons to anyone until after the three months is up.
No. Stupid question.
18) Would you be willing to have your left middle finger surgically removed if it 'somehow' guaranteed you immunity from all diseases?
Yes, if I could be asleep for the surgery.
19) You 'somehow' know for certain that you will die of an incurable disease within three months. Would you allow yourself to be cryogenically frozen *within the week* if you knew it would give you a modest chance of being revived in 1,000 years and living a greatly extended life?
While I'm alive? No. Do it when I'm dead and maybe I can be revived one day.
20) You are leading 100 people in a survivalist situation, when suddenly your lives are in danger and you must choose between two courses of action. One would cause 10 of the people to die and everyone else would live, the other would have a 70% chance of saving everyone but were it to fail then everyone would die. Which would you choose?
If 10 people sacrifice their lives for the sake of the other 90, then bam, solution. Otherwise, go with the 70 percent.

(knowing nothing more about the history of the house than that) There is no electricity though there is running water and other utilities, and you can bring your own flashlight and/or lantern and such. That sounds really boring and since reading in bad light hurts your eyes, no.
2) If a new medicine were developed that would cure arthritis but cause a fatal reaction in 1% of those who took it, would you want it to be released to the public?
"Tell people about it, and let them make their choice." Manny's answer works for me.
3) You discover that your wonderful one-year-old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital, not yours. What would you do? Would you want to exchange the child to try to correct the "mistake"?
Definitely. Their one-year-old may be just as wonderful and that is my child, carrying my blood and my genes. Also, it's not right to keep that knowledge from the rightful parents or either child.
4) Would you accept $1,000,000 in U.S. dollars (or the equivelant in whatever currency) to leave your country and never set foot in it again?
See ya.
5) Which gender do you think has it easier in our culture?
Males.

Sure. I've already felt I was experiencing the "most satisfying love imaginable -- the stuff of dreams" a couple of times so another time or twelve won't make much difference. Besides it's fun.
7) If you knew of a way to use your estate, following your death, to greatly benefit all of humanity, would you do it and leave only a minimal amount (10%) to your family?
I don't think my family would appreciate even only 10% of my debts.
8) Would you be willing to murder an innocent person if it would 'somehow' end all hunger in the world?
If I could use #13 for it, yes. Otherwise, absolutely not! Even besides the fact I don't really think "innocence" exists except in animals and small children and the solution for world hunger is already available, it just wouldn't be right.
9) Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use, or be able to give $1000 anonymously to 100 strangers? You can't pick who it's given to, though you know that all of the people could really use the money.
If I "knew" that they could "really use the money" more than I could and would be using it wisely, I'd let them have it.
10) Would you be willing to give up half of what you now own (randomly selected) for a pill that would permanently change you so that one hour of sleep each day would fully refresh you?
Only if I was still able to sleep longer should I wish to. Only an hour sleeping next to a beautiful woman is no way near enough.
11) If the person you were engaged to marry had an accident and became a paraplegic, would you go through with the marriage or back out of it?
I honestly can't answer this. I know what the right thing to do is but without being confronted with the reality I'm not sure how I would react. I do know I wouldn't cut out without a word. It would be talked out.
No.
13) Someone very close to you is in pain, paralyzed, and you 'somehow' know for certain that they will die within a month. He begs you to give him a fast-acting, painless poison so that he can die. No one else would ever know. Would you?
Since he asked. Sorry, begged.
14) If you could have free, unlimited service for five years from an extremely good cook, chauffeur, or masseuse, which would you choose?
Masseuse. Imagine how fat I'd be with five years of extremely good cooking?
15) Do you feel ill at ease going out to see a movie by yourself?
Not "ill at ease" just wouldn't want to. Why would I when I could catch a flick at home and maybe put a couple back while doing so?
16) Do you feel ill at ease going out to dinner at a resturaunt by yourself?
No.
17) For $35,000 USD, would you go for three months without washing, brushing your teeth, or using deodorant? Assume you could not explain your reasons to anyone until after the three months is up.
No.
No.
20) You are leading 100 people in a survivalist situation, when suddenly your lives are in danger and you must choose between two courses of action. One would cause 10 of the people to die and everyone else would live, the other would have a 70% chance of saving everyone but were it to fail then everyone would die. Which would you choose?
This one I can't answer without knowing what the "courses of action" were. Are hideous deaths involved? Is anyone burning to death? What type of death would those unfortunates I'm choosing to sacrifice, or not, face?
YEAH DAAAAWG

1) Would you be willing to spend a night alone in a remote house that is supposedly haunted, just for the sake of it? (knowing nothing more about the history of the house than that) There is no electricity though there is running water and other utilities, and you can bring your own flashlight and/or lantern and such. The nearest neighbors live 5 miles away.
I'm a puss about those kind of things, so probably not.
2) If a new medicine were developed that would cure arthritis but cause a fatal reaction in 1% of those who took it, would you want it to be released to the public?
Yeah. My mom dealt with arthritis for as long as I can remember, and it can be a pretty crippling disease.
3) You discover that your wonderful one-year-old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital, not yours. What would you do? Would you want to exchange the child to try to correct the "mistake"?
Yes. I would want the child I'm raising to be my child. The blood and genes of me and my significant other.
4) Would you accept $1,000,000 in U.S. dollars (or the equivelant in whatever currency) to leave your country and never set foot in it again?
No, I love my country.
No, being hurt sucks ass.
7) If you knew of a way to use your estate, following your death, to greatly benefit all of humanity, would you do it and leave only a minimal amount (10%) to your family?
No. I would want to leave money to my family, and then a select few charities.
8) Would you be willing to murder an innocent person if it would 'somehow' end all hunger in the world?
Yep.
9) Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use, or be able to give $1000 anonymously to 100 strangers? You can't pick who it's given to, though you know that all of the people could really use the money.
I'm a broke ass college kid, gimme the $10,000.
10) Would you be willing to give up half of what you now own (randomly selected) for a pill that would permanently change you so that one hour of sleep each day would fully refresh you?
Considering that's not much more than I get now, absolutely.
11) If the person you were engaged to marry had an accident and became a paraplegic, would you go through with the marriage or back out of it?
I would go through with it.
I would want to, but probably wouldn't. Again, I'm a puss.
Masseuse. My back is always knotted up like a mofo.
15) Do you feel ill at ease going out to see a movie by yourself?
Probably would, yeah.
16) Do you feel ill at ease going out to dinner at a resturaunt by yourself?
Depends on the type of restaurant. Applebee's, Olive Garden, some place like that, yeah. BK or KFC or something like that, no.
17) For $35,000 USD, would you go for three months without washing, brushing your teeth, or using deodorant? Assume you could not explain your reasons to anyone until after the three months is up.
I can't go 2 days without showering and etc. As badly as I would want $35,000, there's no way I could do that.
18) Would you be willing to have your left middle finger surgically removed if it 'somehow' guaranteed you immunity from all diseases?
Yep. After seeing what happened to my mom I'm terrified I'm going to get cancer or some horrible disease like that.
19) You 'somehow' know for certain that you will die of an incurable disease within three months. Would you allow yourself to be cryogenically frozen *within the week* if you knew it would give you a modest chance of being revived in 1,000 years and living a greatly extended life?
No. All my friends and family and loved ones would be gone.
20) You are leading 100 people in a survivalist situation, when suddenly your lives are in danger and you must choose between two courses of action. One would cause 10 of the people to die and everyone else would live, the other would have a 70% chance of saving everyone but were it to fail then everyone would die. Which would you choose?
Tough choice. Probably depend on the exact circumstances.

It would be an interesting experience, if only for the isolation factor.
2) If a new medicine were developed that would cure arthritis but cause a fatal reaction in 1% of those who took it, would you want it to be released to the public?
Yes, if people are aware of the risk, as HGM and Free said.
3) You discover that your wonderful one-year-old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital, not yours. What would you do? Would you want to exchange the child to try to correct the "mistake"?
It would depend on the feelings of the other family, and my partner. If it was alone up to me, I think I would be too attached to the "mistake" child to give it up, having lived with it for that year and raised it as my own..
4) Would you accept $1,000,000 in U.S. dollars (or the equivelant in whatever currency) to leave your country and never set foot in it again?
No, I see no sense in limiting myself for money.
5) Which gender do you think has it easier in our culture?
Male, definitely
6) (For this question, if you're currently in a mate relationship then answer as if you were single) You have the chance to meet someone with whom you can have the most satisfying love imaginable -- the stuff of dreams. However, you know that in six months the person will have sex with someone else, and then when you eventually find out they will leave you for them and want nothing more to do with you. Knowing the pain that would follow, would you still want to meet the person and fall in love and experience the 6 months of bliss? You would forget your foreknowledge of the events in store for you, too.
No, life is a lot longer 6 months, and there is so much more then just sex to it.
7) If you knew of a way to use your estate, following your death, to greatly benefit all of humanity, would you do it and leave only a minimal amount (10%) to your family?
If my estate was vast enough to greatly benefit society, then 10% would be an immense amount. So yes, obviously.
8) Would you be willing to murder an innocent person if it would 'somehow' end all hunger in the world?
No, I couldn't do it.
9) Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use, or be able to give $1000 anonymously to 100 strangers? You can't pick who it's given to, though you know that all of the people could really use the money.
I think usually I would go with giving the $1,000 out, but at this precise moment to suddenly receive $10,000 would be huge for me, I could really use it.
10) Would you be willing to give up half of what you now own (randomly selected) for a pill that would permanently change you so that one hour of sleep each day would fully refresh you?
Yes, with the need for only one hour of sleep, I would have more time to devote to earning money to buy back those things I had to give up. :p
11) If the person you were engaged to marry had an accident and became a paraplegic, would you go through with the marriage or back out of it?
Certainly I would go through with it.
No, because money does not mean that much to me.
13) Someone very close to you is in pain, paralyzed, and you 'somehow' know for certain that they will die within a month. He begs you to give him a fast-acting, painless poison so that he can die. No one else would ever know. Would you?
Yes, I would, and I would likely want the same in that situation.
14) If you could have free, unlimited service for five years from an extremely good cook, chauffeur, or masseuse, which would you choose?
Chauffeur probably.
15) Do you feel ill at ease going out to see a movie by yourself?
I hate movie theaters to begin with, so I might if I did so. However, I haven't done it before.
16) Do you feel ill at ease going out to dinner at a resturaunt by yourself?
I have never done that before either, I couldn't say.
17) For $35,000 USD, would you go for three months without washing, brushing your teeth, or using deodorant? Assume you could not explain your reasons to anyone until after the three months is up.
I am a clean freak, so I could never do that.
18) Would you be willing to have your left middle finger surgically removed if it 'somehow' guaranteed you immunity from all diseases?
Yeah, I would.
19) You 'somehow' know for certain that you will die of an incurable disease within three months. Would you allow yourself to be cryogenically frozen *within the week* if you knew it would give you a modest chance of being revived in 1,000 years and living a greatly extended life?
I would rather spend those 3 months with the people whom I love.
20) You are leading 100 people in a survivalist situation, when suddenly your lives are in danger and you must choose between two courses of action. One would cause 10 of the people to die and everyone else would live, the other would have a 70% chance of saving everyone but were it to fail then everyone would die. Which would you choose?
I would try to save everyone.

(knowing nothing more about the history of the house than that) There is no electricity though there is running water and other utilities, and you can bring your own flashlight and/or lantern and such. Yes, that would be awesome.
2) If a new medicine were developed that would cure arthritis but cause a fatal reaction in 1% of those who took it, would you want it to be released to the public?
It'd be nice to find out what trait those 1 in 100 people shared.
3) You discover that your wonderful one-year-old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital, not yours. What would you do? Would you want to exchange the child to try to correct the "mistake"?
I think you'd end up having some bond with both children and both families.
4) Would you accept $1,000,000 in U.S. dollars (or the equivelant in whatever currency) to leave your country and never set foot in it again?
Where do I sign up?!?!
5) Which gender do you think has it easier in our culture?
This isn't a hypothetical question
6) (For this question, if you're currently in a mate relationship then answer as if you were single) You have the chance to meet someone with whom you can have the most satisfying love imaginable -- the stuff of dreams. However, you know that in six months the person will have sex with someone else, and then when you eventually find out they will leave you for them and want nothing more to do with you. Knowing the pain that would follow, would you still want to meet the person and fall in love and experience the 6 months of bliss? Sure. If I know that it is coming, it should be able to deal with it.
7) If you knew of a way to use your estate, following your death, to greatly benefit all of humanity, would you do it and leave only a minimal amount (10%) to your family?
Of course
8) Would you be willing to murder an innocent person if it would 'somehow' end all hunger in the world?
Sure. I'd even offer myself up (http://freethoughtkampala.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/jesus-on-the-cross.jpg).
9) Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use, or be able to give $1000 anonymously to 100 strangers? You can't pick who it's given to, though you know that all of the people could really use the money.
Either way the money would end up in good hands. I guess I'd rather have it given anonymously though, less temptation to buy lunch with it and only have 9990 to give away.
10) Would you be willing to give up half of what you now own (randomly selected) for a pill that would permanently change you so that one hour of sleep each day would fully refresh you?
Sign me up for this if the million dollar thing doesn't work out.
11) If the person you were engaged to marry had an accident and became a paraplegic, would you go through with the marriage or back out of it?
I have no idea. Paraplegic sex could be hot, but I'd miss handjobs.
No...give me million and I'll go to Greece though.
Masseuse. My sister's friend is in massage school and needs 200 hours of volunteers. I offered my back for all 200...
15) Do you feel ill at ease going out to see a movie by yourself?
There is no movie I want to see enough to go by myself. And I'd have little problem in going by myself.
16) Do you feel ill at ease going out to dinner at a resturaunt by yourself?
No, I'm the creepy guy alone at restaurants.
17) For $35,000 USD, would you go for three months without washing, brushing your teeth, or using deodorant? Assume you could not explain your reasons to anyone until after the three months is up.
I don't use deodorant anyway, so that's not a problem. Three months without brushing your teeth would cause some damage. So, no.
18) Would you be willing to have your left middle finger surgically removed if it 'somehow' guaranteed you immunity from all diseases?
Yes
19) You 'somehow' know for certain that you will die of an incurable disease within three months. Would you allow yourself to be cryogenically frozen *within the week* if you knew it would give you a modest chance of being revived in 1,000 years and living a greatly extended life?
I don't know. And I can't put myself into that mindset at the moment.
20) You are leading 100 people in a survivalist situation, when suddenly your lives are in danger and you must choose between two courses of action. One would cause 10 of the people to die and everyone else would live, the other would have a 70% chance of saving everyone but were it to fail then everyone would die. Which would you choose?
