View Full Version : Free Agent Pool not working properly [Fixed 9.030]

This bug occurs in the Current Version (downloaded on 10 SEP 10). It occurs in any game I start even after creating a database.

ISSUE: Clay said it should hold 100 but no matter how many guys I try to put in there, it only has about 62 to show up. Additionally, the positions also seem to have limits. For example, I can never get more than 3 QB or 4 RBs to appear no matter how many I release to the pool, even though I should have 30-40 slots available.

My ideal solution would be to take the cap off free agency or increase to 300 or so. If not, it should at least work as stated...i.e. allowing 100 players in the pool. And, there should be no caps at any position...a minimum is fine, but no max other than the overall 100.

As I stated in another thread, this is still an issue after the patch. Any chance of it getting fixed soon? Would love to start a game that takes my team through multiple seasons but would like to see the free agent pool work as advertised before doing so. I think it will be very important with folks being released every offseason. Thanks.

I really hate to beat a dead horse but can we please get some response as to whether this (or other bugs) will be addressed any time soon? This one truly is a game killer for multiple season players like myself.

To see that, simply sim a season. Then check the free agent pool. It is mostly if not all fictional players (again, capped at a rediculously low level such as 3 QBs, 4 RBs, etc) who were drafted while real players who are released or unsigned simply disappear...players like Matt Leinart, Ronnie Brown, and many others! They are no where to be found with a player search.

The only retirement announcement was for Jeff Feagles so I assume they didn't retire. Of course if there was a transactions tab or player news I could know for sure but I think they got sucked into the free agent black hole.

Again, this is a game killer for multi-season players! We need this one addressed quickly.

Thank you.

Your right! The game just came out, but there is very little response addressing problems.

I suggest e-mailing support.

I e-mailed Clay directly at the address in his signature. As the support e-mail seems geared towards installation issues, I didn't try that but maybe I should.

Of course, all you have to do is go to Clay's profile to see that he does log into the boards every 1-2 days. Granted he may not check this thread specifically but he is on here.

Hopefully this gets fixed. This game is much more user friendly (as far as editing things) than Front Office Football and it has 2010 rosters which FOF does not. Pro Football Simulator has the rosters and a great interface but it doesn't let you call plays like FM, which is a must have feature for me. I really want to support FM since I like Baseball Mogul so much (and all revenue goes to the same development team) but it is hard sitting on the sidelines for the past couple of weeks since I can't really get into FM knowing a lot of key guys are going to just disappear after year two and beyond. It really makes free agency pretty pointless.

This has been improved for Version 9.030, due out on Friday (October 8th) as an unofficial patch.

The Free Agent list limit is now about 95 players (it's technically 100, but sometimes the DB needs some empty slots in order to process player movement).

For Football Mogul 2012, I do plan to increase this limit to 300 or more.

Thanks for your patience.

Looking forward to the 8th!
