Option to create leagues with fake players.

I was just wondering if has ever been considered to create an online league with all fake players. Playing with the same players for the first 10 years of every league loses some of its appeal because you will always know who the stars will be. Its nothing major, just wondering.

I like it. Make it a true fantasy league. And there is always interest, the issue just hasn't been out there that much. People who play the CD version will occasionally sim 25 years to get all fantasy players.

I would like it very much. It would be easy to do, too. Just include a Commish option to autoplay the game for 25 years, that should do it.

please add this. it shouldn't be too difficult. When the league starts, just create 25 x # of teams fictional mlb-calibur players between 20 and 35, then add in a handful of 18-24 yo prospects per team. I think you would win a lot of ootp fans if this were a feature.

Assuming this is done, I would like to be able to specify that I want ALL female players. An all-female league is a lot more realistic than a co-ed one. In fact, there actually used to be one, the AAGPBL.

I'd like to see an all-female league, too. Read a great book by Lois Browne called "The Girls of Summer", which is the only book I know of that goes into detail regarding the AAGPBL -- I always wanted to try to play an alternate history, which is what games like "Baseball Mogul" are great for. Too bad the current 2003 version won't let you have an four team league (the 1943 season).

So if the online game ever gives a commish the option to "create all-girls league", I'll join. I suspect that fluharty and I would be the only ones playing. Of course, there is play-by-mail....

As for women playing alongside men, highly unrealistic. Maybe you'll get one of those Pee Wee Reese 140 pound women's softball players on the field with the major leaguers...sometime in 2040. But the way the game is today, no.

Besides, after 10 years of game play, you're basically playing with fantasy players, anyway. In the Active GM League, Randy Johnson is retired, Ken Griffey Jr. is hanging on after breaking Aaron's record...and it's only 2009...I think most of us buy the game for the fantasy options anyway. So any "all-computer" players option would be cool.

I have to agree. That would be a great on-line feature to have.

I know on my CD version, I sim at LEAST 10 seasons, with shuffled rosters before I even look at my rosters. It makes it much more of a challenge, and would bring some excitement to Sports Mogul if Implemented. :)

Interesting; this is the first time we've had interest in this for the online game. I'll forward this thread to Clay, so hopefully we can incorporate this feature into a future update of Baseball Mogul Online.

Good news-
I talked to James, and we probably will be able to add this as a feature in the future.

However, because it will take some time to program, we will probably not be able to work on it until Football Mogul is complete and released in about a month.
