I do not actually watch much baseball, but it seems in the online version it can be super tough to make trades, especially for rookies. You would think you could trade Maddux for some prospect pretty easily, but it seems its virtually impossible to get prospects in this game. Mabey this is just my experience, or mabey its because most of us know who will turn into stars and who wont. Anyone else experience this?

Salaries have a lot to do with it, too.
Maddux makes a fortune, while the prospects are only making 1 point.
The computer GMs are generally reluctant to take on salary.

Exactly. We made the computer GM's not want to take salary, and be very reluctant to trade prospects.
We had to do this because, in the beginning, human GM's were ripping off the computer by trading dozens of players for a super prospect, or dumping huge salaries on the computer.

You've got to be kidding!! Take a look at the GM Baseball League where Toronto, Anaheim became computer controlled simultaneously after an argument by the human players over who the best pitcher in the league was. Ted Hendel was a lifelong Toronto pitcher ended up at Anaheim for 102 points salary. Toronto was leading its division, now is 8 games behind. Anaheim was 13 games ahead and is headed for the basement.
These teams were devasted by the AI. The same AI for the solitaire game should not be used when there are 26 active humans in the game. The AI should be designed not to make changes to solvent and successful teams, only to replace losses to injury or free agency. Humans are not allowed to trade with AI teams, but AI teams make trades just because they can. It'll take several seasons, now, for a human player to fix these devastated teams.
