The Cleveland Browns have fired their coach Eric Mangini after an unsuccessful opening season, and Jake Michaels will be the new head coach of the Browns. Michaels is a former running back who went to Ohio State University, and played eight years in the NFL for the Bengals, Bills, and Colts. The Browns won't be turned around very easily, but hopefully he can make some winning teams in the future.

The Browns were not very good on either offense or defense in their week one game in Tampa Bay. Quarterback Jake Delhome threw three picks (one "pick-six"), and Cleveland could not recover. Tampa QB Josh Freeman had a great game on Week 1, as he threw for three touchdowns.
STATS:
Jake Delhome 16-33 144 Yards, 2 TD, 3 Int
Jerome Harrison 29 Att 88 Yards 3.0 Avg. 3 Rec. 18 Rec. Yards

Comments: Although the first game was a very weak performance, all hope should not be lost in Cleveland. At times, Jake Delhome was great, but he was also equal to his 2009 performance at times. We will just need to hope that he is consistent.

The Browns took on the Kansas City Chiefs in their Week 2 game, and played much better than last week. They impressed their home fans, with exciting plays such as an interception returned for a touchdown by Eric Wright, and a 48 yard TD run by Jerome Harrison. With the score 14-13,and 8 minutes left in the game. Jerome Harrison ran for his second TD to make the lead eight. Kansas City began to move the ball well, but Matt Cassel threw an interception. The Browns had a decent drive as well, but it ended with a missed field goal by Phil Dawson. The Chiefs were fired up that they still had a chance, but Matt Cassel promptly fumbled. The Browns burned the last three minutes on the clock, and ended with a field goal by Dawson.
Stats:
Jake Delhome 15-23 194 Yards 2 Int
Jerome Harrison 28 Att 148 Yards 2 TD
Josh Cribbs 6 Rec 74 Yards
Mohamed Massaquoi 2 Rec 57 Yards
Eric Wright 4 Tackles 1 Int 1 TD
Matt Cassel 21-39 204 Yards 1 TD 2 Int
Thomas Jones 14 Att 89 Yards
Comments: We played with much more heart out there today, and I am feeling much better about this team. Jerome Harrison had a much better game than against Tampa, and our O-Line was protecting Jake Delhome better. The main statistic that I am worried about is that we got in the Red-Zone four times, and only scored once. But otherwise, a very well-played game.

CLE 3 10 0 10 23
BAL 0 3 0 3 6
Cleveland came to Baltimore ready to play in their first game against an AFC North opponent. They played great defense, holding the Baltimore offensive attack to only two field goals. On top of a great defensive performance, the offense was solid. The Browns committed no turnovers, and had possession of the ball for a large portion of the game (38:11). Although their running game was not very effective, Jake Delhome had a great game, throwing two touchdowns.
Stats:
Jake Delhome 14-22 245 Yards 2 TD
Josh Cribbs 5 Rec 87 Yards 1 TD
Dion Morton 1 Rec (1st this season) 46 Yards 1 TD
Marc Bulger 16-33 130 Yards
Ray Rice 17 Att 93 Yards 5.5 Avg.
Comments: Another solid victory. Even though we came into a hostile environment, we kept our composure and played some very good football. Unfortunately, we suffered to injuries. Josh Cribbs got drilled on a kick off return in the fourth quarter, and suffered a wrist injury. He is listed probable for next week's game against Cincinnatti. Also, guard Eric Steinbach suffered an ankle injury, and will miss 8-10 weeks of football.

Bengals (1-2) 10, Browns (2-1) 19
The Browns defeated their rival in a very tough, and intense game. Both quarterbacks left with injuries, and Bengals QB Carson Palmer will miss two weeks. The main difference is that Browns backup Seneca Wallace came into the game and played well, while Bengals backup J.T. O'Sullivan did not. he Bengals featured a passing game, and did not run the ball very much. Only seven of their 53 plays were designed runs. Although they did pass a lot, they were not successful. Palmer and O'Sullivan combined for a 32% completion.
Stats:
Jake Delhome 9-11 128 Yards 1 Rush 1 Yard 1 TD
Seneca Wallace 5-9 65 Yards
Chansi Stuckey 4 Rec 82 Yards
Carson Palmer 9-26 179 Yards 1 TD 1 Int
J.T. O'Sullivan 5-18 51 Yards
Terrell Owens 2 Rec 86 Yards 1 TD
Comments: After losing our first game, bouncing back to a three game winning streak is fantastic, especially for a team that has not had much success in recent years. When Jake Delhome went down, Seneca Wallace came in and did a fine job at quarterback. I would also like to thank Phil Dawson, who was 4-4 on field goals, including one from 54 yards. Without him, this game could have been different. We just need to keep up the solid "D", and keep playing hard.

Falcons (0-4) 26, Browns (3-1) 23 (OT)
ATL 0 13 0 10 3 26
CLE 10 0 7 6 0 23
The Browns suffered a very difficult loss, as Atlanta won by a mere three points after kicking a field goal in overtime. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was injured early in the game, and John Parker Wilson came in for Atlanta. Instead of things going from bad to worse, things got better for the Falcons. Wilson picked the Browns secondary apart, throwing for a 111.4 Passer Rating. The Browns also had a good offense. Halfback Montario Hardesty ran for 124 yards, and had a 95 yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Unfortunately, kicker Phil Dawson missed two field goals, and Cleveland could not come away with a victory.
Stats:
Jake Delhomme 27-48 315 Yards 1 TD 2 Int
Montario Hardesty 12 Att 124 Yards 1 TD
Matt Ryan 10-25 113 Yards 1 TD 1 Int
John Parker Wilson 15-20 145 Yards 1 TD
Michael Turner 25 Att 99 Yards
Comments: This was a very tough loss for Cleveland fans to swallow. The game seemed to be going our way when we were leading 10-0, but with injuries to our two top receivers, made our passing game more difficult. Massaquoi will play next week, but Cribbs will miss the game with a broken heel. Halfback Jerome Harrison was benched in the middle of the game after his first six attempts resulted in a whopping two yards. Hardesty will be the starter if he continues to perform well.
