View Full Version : 14.09 - Messed up box-scores

In past iterations of Baseball Mogul, I believe it would show a players stats up until that point. For example, if you were on August 30th and had a player with 35 home-runs, and clicked to look at a box score from July 17th, and they happened to hit a home-run in that game it would show their total at that time, say 26, as opposed to their total for where you actually were in the season. Well, it doesn't appear to be doing that anymore. Maybe it's by design, but I thought I'd draw attention to it just in case.
Here's a couple box-scores showing what I mean:

Notice how Michael Dunn is shown to be (5-1) and Leo Nunez is shown to have 23 saves in both box-scores. I could find tons more examples if it would help.

I also noticed, that in a box score, after the game the starter for me got hurt and I had to put him on the dl, and the pitcher who I replaced him with on the roster replaced him in the box score.

I've also seen instances where after the game I'll bring up the box score and the opposing starting pitcher is listed as somebody else.

Yeah, I just had this happen to me. I was playing the Mets and Johan Santana started for them, and when I went to look at the box-score R.A. Dickey was listed as the SP for the game. There's definitely something wrong with how or where the game is pulling the information from and generating the box-score.

This is quickly becoming a very irritating and common problem. Look for example at the following screenshot and box score (I apologize for the bad formatting of the box score, still trying to figure that out). In the actual PBP game I just played, Earl Williams was the player who hit the grand slam. That's accurately shown on his player card after the game is finished. However, in the box score and game recap, Dick Allen is credited with the grand slam.

It is extremely annoying. Can we get some feedback from Clay or Dee or someone as to if this bug is being looked addressed at all?
Also, don't worry about formatting the box-scores yourself. Just copy and paste them between some [h.tml][/h.tml] tags and it'll be fine. Just remove the dots, obviously. The button for them is the greater than and less than symbols, right next to the "#" button.

Another example: Rich Chiles didn't even play in this game, yet is credited in the box score for his zeroth double of the year.

Clay, can we please at least get acknowledgement that you're working on this? It seems to be a pretty serious and widespread bug.

This seems to be occurring when following the game guys get hurt and are sent to the minors/dl the guys that take over their spots are put in the box score from the previous game.
Josias Manzanillo saved this game for the Red Sox then following the game got a 5 day injury, went to AAA and Cory Bailey moved into their closer role.

Double bump!
I am hoping this will be fixed in 4.11. I have gone back to 4.07 until this bug is fixed.

This seems to be occurring when following the game guys get hurt and are sent to the minors/dl the guys that take over their spots are put in the box score from the previous game.
Or if you give a guy a day off and start a bench player, or maybe even play with the batting order (but I'm not sure about that one though).

There's definitely something weird going on with box scores. I saw in the Transactions screen that Zach McAllister on the Astros threw a no-hitter (his scouting report confirms). I went to the Astros calendar and opened up the game, but Jordan Lyles was listed as the starter with the same stats that McAllister has in his game log, though Lyles' record is shown in the W/L area of the box score.
However, I can't seem to replicate this outside of the last two games from Houston (where the other game has stats for Matt Harrison that don't match up to his scouting report, but rather Josh Banks)...real weird. Josh Banks being sent to the minors MAY have something to do with it, which is a serious bug as far as nbox scores are concerned.

Don't forget to rate the thread, guys. It looks like I'm the first to rate it. Clay does seem to pay attention to those 4 and 5 star ratings.
Edit -- no, I see there have been other ratings. Never mind.

Seeing this in league play - when I trade a guy from my roster he disappears from the opening day box score. 14.07 here. Altho the sims are done in 14.10, not sure if that matters.
Please look into and address, this ruins Miz's box score parser, which is the only way we have of getting streaks and more involved stats from the game.
