That's right according to ESPN (http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2002/0820/1420557.html) the Yankees payroll is a whopping $171 million this year.
Assuming 5 starting pitchers, a closer, and a 9-man lineup, that's more than $11 million per "full-time" player. That's just absurd.
