Would it be possible to create a league in which ALL players begin as free agents. Much like in the regular version, there would be a three day span covering the free agency period where teams fill out there rosters however they wish. Equalized leagues ultimately punish teams like the Yankees because they are loaded with players whose salaries are based on there "normal" income. With this type of league, you could equalize the cities and every team would have the ability to sign any player at the inception of the league. In this way it would be similar to a draft but would not require everyone to be on at the same time. All rules concerning 1 year "fat contracts" would have to be implemented but it would give every owner a fair shot at signing anyone they wanted. The owners, depending on their bids would construct their lineups and then the league would play out normally from that point on. I think that alot of people would be interested in this. I certainly would, let me know what you think. Thanks

Hi-
Unfortunately, this is not possible under the current system.
From the help file at http://www-1.sportsmogul.com/bb/Help/Free_Agents.htm
The Free Agent list holds up to 70 batters and 70 pitchers. If the number of available free agents exceeds these limits, the free agents with the poorest major league prospects will retire. So, if you released everyone via the commish control, you would basically destroy the league because only 140 players would be available to fill the rosters.
