BBMO has been down since at least Monday morning, so how come there is no mention of this in any of the public forums? I'd like to know:

- What happened?
- Why was it down for 2+ days?
- Why weren't we notified, perhaps by email, what was wrong with the web site?
- I finally got on at 1:15pm EST on Weds. At 3:30pm when I logged back on I noticed the leagues had been reset back several time periods. Whats up with that?

I do internet development work for a financial institution. We have contingency plans in place such that if a critical server fails, the web site will display a message letting customers know that there is a problem and give them some basic info (i.e. try again later, or try again at 6:00am the next day, or whatever). Instead we got bupkis.

I'm not mad that the system has been down for two+ days - I know enough about systems to know that s**t happens. I'm mad that there has been NO communication to the paying customers about what is happening.

They did send an email out and also setup an emergency message board on Yahoo groups. I think they handled the situation as best as they could.

They did send out an e-mail... I finally got mine...along with about 50 other messages my e-mail server decided to hold off on delivering... If you use MSN or Hotmail for your server, you may want to check it again.

Here is a link for what happend as well.

If you have any questions you can also contact James Grove at James@Sportsmogul.com. Although I would give him at least 24 hours if possible to recouperate from dealing with the people at Sprint and Verizon. Also there are moderators, Ariel AMunoz2001, Ryan, RyanSiegrist, or Tom Tkaplan. Any of these should be able to give you a little more information about what happened. I do know that Tom was a moderator of sorts for the Yahoo message board that was set up, so he may or may not have more information than the rest of them.

As far as the reason you got "bupkis", it was not a "server" error, Sprint and Verizon for some reason did something to the T-1 line. So nobody could access the servers. Everything was out of BBMO's hands. When the servers go bad, we do get a mesage explaining what happened and that they are working on it. Because we could not get to the servers though we got no message.

Hopefully this explains a little.

What happened is this:

Our T1 line was disconnected so all the servers went down and that means all SportsMogul operations online including the boards and Baseball Mogul Online went down. There was nothing we could do and we couldn't post it on our own boards because they were not even online. Thank you very much for your patience, i know it was very frustrating, but you will be compensated.
