ratings keep changing

ok heres the deal, i got this 23 year old gem pitcher who has a- ratings in three out of the four categories. When i move him up the majors, his ratings drop significantly. Whats the deal with this? Does this mean he needs more time in the minors? thanks alot

It might be that your original ratings weren't accurate... what is your ranking in terms of scouting?

It is definately your scouting. It also takes a while for the scouting to be more accurate. Its not a one day thing where you get the ratings then remove it beccause that dont work. It takes time. I wasted a whole free agency because the team I had was in debt a bit but I got out and added scouting but it took till the middle of the 1st month to work properly. NO one has gem pitchers :) If you spend on farm you might get a guy with B's all the way.

By "Gem" I mean AAs who perform in the majors after a year of seasoning in the minors. Also, no mini Pedros, but some good pitching.

How much is your spending on scouting and what is your rank with that amount?

At the time I got the dude, I was spending 65 points in Scouting, and was ranked 5th.

Now I am spending 80 and am ranked 6th.

The proof is in the performance, though. He went a season in tripple A, with a OBA of 217, and is performing well in the bigs this season - OBA 252 after 60 + innings.

Like I said, not Pedro type stuff, but good!

He's 24 now, and in his 2nd year.

I have a rookie pitcher who was A+,A+,A+,C he has won the CY Young in both years he has started. I never gave him any AAA time he was the #1 starter Each year, I am in Fast Sim 49. His stats first year were like 20-5 with 2.38 e.r.a second year he was 23-6 with 2.22 e.r.a. I had I think in top 5 scouting but I lost a lot of Pitching to Free Agency. Julius
