Creating A League?

Maybe I'm late on this subject or just stupid, but what's with all these active GM only leagues? I would make one, but my account says that that feature "is not available yet". What's with that? If you're wondering if I'm qualified, I check my team (I'm only in one league) at least 3 times a day, usually more. Sometimes I even check after each simulation during the FA sigining period. The only time I don't log on that much is during the playoffs. If you have any info please talk to me.

ok so the leagues will be run by Kohut, bad-ash, Particlman and "some other dude"? Is that his user name or did everyone forget who is running the other league? And if that isn't his user name, can I change mine to that? I can just see the forum conversation now:

Hopefully not. There are lots of leagues out there with tonnes of openings. I beleive these ones were offered for active GM's to test out the leagues together. Hopefully they will boot all the inactive ppl out and fold some dead leagues.

I figured if this is for a beta test the fastsim would be best(more repititions, more chance for errors). That and suffering thru a losing season doesn't last as long hehe.

I would definitely like to try out an active equal city league, put all of us moguls on equal footing.

And it would be good way to see which type of league people would prefer.

I was always wondering what is up with the private league thing and I would definitely like to join one. I'm fed up with all the GMs who don't give about the "game." I'm a huge baseball fan and upset that the other GMs don't make this fun for me or any other die hard baseball fan. I know EXACTLY how you feel taubster. I'm in FastSim 24 about half the GMs are active. If there are any GMs out there looking for an active league, this one isn't bad. If you can deal with the 5-15 GM that don't participate much, the rest of league is very competitive. Lot's of bidding wars in Free Agency. If you want a challenge take KC or some other Central Division team. I am Cleveland and have made the playoffs in every year (9 yrs.) and only once as the Wild Card. The team the beat me out that year was KC (that's why I said take KC, they're under CPU management right now so they aren't challenging me much). As I said, half the GMs are VERY active and the other half are not active at all.

FastSim 24 is a pretty good league. I used to be the Mets, but I had to drop them to join Bad_Ash's league. Whoever picked them up, you're welcome. My last season, I had the second best record in the league, right behind...Cleveland. I won the World Series, but it was a battle.

For those of you looking for a decent league right now, Fast Sim 44 is a good one. There are only 2 GMs currently that are inactive, plus cheating hasn't been an issue for a while in this league. Plus the 3 teams that are left computer controlled aren't horribly in debt or over budget (although one of the teams is 100 points over budget) but that can be alieviated in a season or two. When the private leagues start up, this is the one league I plan on staying in.

I think I am the "other dude" that has been referred to. I'm not Jeff Olsen (that is his handle too, btw), but I have been contacted about running an active GM league. I don''t know what the name of my league will be yet, but as soon as I find out, I'll let all interested parties know.

My league will be a normal sim rate (10 games/day) and will run on weekdays. If you are interested in joining the league, email me (joshuacovert@earthlink.net) and let me know what team you'd like. So far, the Cardinals and the Yankees are spoken for. Please include a some alternates as well, in case your team has been taken. They will be given on a first come, first serve basis.

I was going to wait for my league to go live before recruiting as well, but since some of you are showing interest in a normal sim game, I thought I'd let you know that there is going to be at least one league like that.

I'll also be posting this info on a new thread shortly, for the people who aren't looking in this thread.
