strange thing, on both challenge semifinals 1 & 2
there is to be a trade transaction in the headlines:
April 1, 2002
Detroit Trades Rich Aurilia To Minnesota
With a team ERA of 0.00, the Minnesota Twilight are 0 and 0. They are tied for first in the AL Central.
Minneapolis - Thanks to a four-person deal worked out between the Tailfins and the Twilight, shortstop Rich Aurilia and right fielder Ichiro will be headed to Minnesota. In return, Detroit picks up reliever Irving Quinlan and reliever Scott MacRae. 2001 was a good year for Rich in the power category. He sent 37 into the bleachers, knocking in 97 runners in 156 games played. The Tailfins have a total team payroll of 514 points. They are tied for first in the AL Central which is currently led by the Chicago Whales. With a team ERA of 0.00, the Minnesota Twilight are 0 and 0. They are tied for first in the AL Central.
looking at the players involved, this is surely not a fair trade. and despite what the headline says that the Detroit Tailfins have a "total team payroll of 514 points," looking in the finances section of the league shows the Tailfins have a total team payroll of 386. their total projected expenses would be 517, so that doesnt add to 514 either.
im just wondering about it because i was considering picking detroit again (since i was detroit for mogul challenge 1) just for some continuity.
since the trade happened in both semifinal challenge leagues, im assuming that one of the administrators processed this trade.
which sucks, because i would have loved to have Ichiro on my team!
and we're all counting the hours down...
good luck to all. may you be shrewd and diligent and have a tough stomach.
