How important is the addition of Lefty/Righty stats to Baseball Mogul Online?

Not essential to the game, but it woulod be nice to be able to set L/R lineups, or pay that extra 10 points for a top quality LHP, as long as you code the game to make lefty pitchers a bit of a rarity(or at least good Leftys)when generating new players. I think batterwise it wouldn't be too much of a disparity, maybe slightly favoring right hand hitters. Just my humble opinion.

I'd consider it pretty important for realism... L/R handedness is very important in real baseball, and keeping a decent spread of each is a big deal. Additionally, left-handed players, and especially switch-hitters, are more rare, and thus more valuable...

w/o L/R, the stats of the game don't seem "real", they seem more "vague" or "projected"... IMO...

Considering the pay that some teams give to lefty relief specialists- I'd say they're absolutely critical to achieve the most realistic baseball sim possbile.

For my money, the lefty-righty/bench-bullpen manager duels are the ultimate test of team depth and baseball strategery.

Add that element in to BBMogul and I'll turn all my other baseball game cd's into disco glitter balls. Scatch that, I'll always want to remember the grass is truly greener on the mogul side.

I was already incorporating that into how I set my Lineup and Rotation. I was slightly shocked to find that it was not in the game yet.

Except for the fact that this is a GM game, and GM's don't do the L/R bullpen management stuff. Most GM's don't even look at LH vs RH stats (look at the success of Ryan Klesko)

Whoa...

'In control of' and 'aware of the importance of' are two related but entirely different creatures.

Are you suggesting GM's ignore split-stats when evaluating players capablilities?

Even Mr. Burns on The Simpsons knew what 'playing the percentages' was.

And if lefty/righty stats aren't important: then why are you even aware of what Ryan Klesko's are?
