View Full Version : DHs in National League parks
I have never noticed a designated hitter being used from the bench when in a National League park. Wouldn't it make more sense to drop the 5th bench player from the lineup and cause the DH to be considered 1st on the bench?

Although I have to admit that I haven't looked very closely at the way the game handles this situation, it seems logical that the AL teams would drop the DH from their lineups in the NL parks and the NL teams would use the first batter off the bench as the DH in the AL parks.
In Nat. L. parks, the Am. League DH is not only dropped from the lineup but from the roster. Usually, the DH would be number one on the bench. I'm suggesting, the number 5 bench be dropped instead of the DH and the DH become number 1 on the bench. As it stands, my DH is sent to the minors during Nat. League park games.

Why drop either one? The NL teams have 6 bench positions on the lineup page, so why shouldn't the AL teams have the same?
I haven't played a NL team so didn't know they have a bench of six. Yes, the AL should also have the same during NL stadium games. The DH would be one of them, probably first.
