I'd like to proudly announce the second official Sports Mogul Baseball Mogul Online competition, Mogul Challenge 2: Bidding Frenzy.
The competition will be similar to the original challenge in many ways, but also has a few unique twists that will make these leagues much more active, difficult, and exciting.
The competition will simulate 60 games per day, every day, hourly, Pacific time. The first round will run for 5 years, and will be equalized and shuffled using a fantasy draft. The top 5 finishers from the original challenge will have first choice of teams in the first round.
Here's the first twist: unlike the first challenge, each team will start with 0 points cash, creating a financial mess for each team. Of course, any team in debt after the 5 years will be disqualified.
Now for the "Bidding Frenzy" aspect of our competition. The top 45 pitchers and batters chosen in the CPU fantasy draft will be released as free agents. Then, before the league starts, each GM will be allowed to bid on a maximum of 5 players during the 36 hour bidding window. GM's cannot edit their bid after it has been posted in the forums.
Preseason trading will also be allowed.
If we have two challenge leagues, then the top 15 GM's from each league will move on to the Finals (there will be no semifinals). If we have three leagues, then the top 10 GM's from each league will move on to the Finals. GM's are ranked by their average mogul points.
The Finals league will be redrafted and reshuffled, and will have a different crop of free agents for another bidding period before the league begins, which will run just like in the first round. Again, each team begins with 0 points cash. Managers can make preseason trades.
GM's will be assigned a time slot to pick their team in the Finals, similar to how teams were picked in the original challenge.
The Finals will run for 10 years! Of course, any team in debt after the 10 years will be disqualified.
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in the Finals, ranked by their average mogul points.
The leagues will be open for everyone to join on Friday.
The leagues are:
Mogul Challenge Bidding Frenzy A
Mogul Challenge Bidding Frenzy B
