As you will notice if you havent already you can not release players in the final year of their contract during the free agency period for free any longer. Just wanted to point that out so that people are not baffled why they cant anymmore.
This is no good, cause i was releasing a player today, but i didn't look at the words it said, just released him. That player was on his last year and he worthed over 70 points!!! OH NO!!!!
That wasn't too bad, i am still in positive, but i think this fix is good, it makes the game more realistic.

Ya, it definitely is more realistic. But it was nice to be able to dump some old expensive vets before their contract was up :-)
The best way to save money for old STinky vet is see if you could sign them in a lower contract.

I noticed, so now I'm stuck with Jay Buhner for yet another year in the NABL.
For example: Bonds is 41 and on his last year of his contract asking 10 points for 2 years, and your currently paying him 30, so u can sign him to a 2 years deal, and he would play for you for another year for a cheaper total contract value.

Maybe everyone will think twice before signing an old star
for more than he is worth. Makes everyone more responsible
in trades. I like it. Too bad for you guys who overspend.

i know, it is a good fix, but here is why i was frustrated:
i start of in 2001 with some old expensive vets signed to long term contracts- there is nothing i can do about this. finally i can release them a year early, and now i can't, so i am grossly over budget because i was planning on dumping them. the problem was, i never realized it was a bug lol!
