Attached is an unofficial patch for Football Mogul 2003. This is version number 2.198. This version DOES NOT work with the Softwrap Version of Football Mogul 2003 (however, when we release an official patch, we will create both Softwap and non-Softwrap versions).
This patch should fix the following issues since 2.1.9.6:
- College Draft Order fixed
- Fumble stats saved
- Longest punt recorded
- Computer teams pay signing bonuses
- Eliminated 10 yards/carry rushers
- More players selected to Hall Of Fame
I MAY have fixed the following bugs, but I need to do further testing:
- 100%+ FG percentages
- 'Big Players' being released in first season
If these bugs remain, more detail would be appreciated.
Finally, I have added a 'toggle' to the Scouting Report to let you see a second page of stats. If the stat list is full, click anywhere on the Scouting Report and the 2nd page will display. Click again to return to the first page.
Please download this file and copy it over your FB2K3.exe file and let me know if it resolves the bugs you have reported and/or if it creates any new problems.

To fix these errors (which occur if you apply this patch to the Softwrap installation), you can download the Softwrap version from this web page:
http://www.sportsmogul.com/demo/fb2k3demo.htm
Follow the instructions to re-install Football Mogul. When the Softwrap page appears, it should recognize that you have already paid for the product and let you run the game normally without missing file errors.

Dude, it's the weekend... take a break.
Thanks for patch 198. It seems to do the trick. I haven't run into that draft bug again since I posted it. I'm thinking it was a memory issue 'cause I remember I had something else running.
I wanted to ask you about draft players realistic attributes and the statistical chances of finding a superstar in the draft.
I'm noticing that WR's with a 90+Rec and 90+Hands are a dime a dozen. There's always enough to go around.
Good Tackles are usually there too. Not as plentiful as WR's, but still a lot of them.
There's usually alot of very decent RB's too, maybe moreso than T's.
A superstar QB, G, LB, CB and S are more rare to come by and is more realistic.
However, the chances of coming across a superstar TE, DE, K, or P is slim to none AND I've YET to come across a superstar C or DT (always seems to be the two positions I need to fill).
I'm wondering if this was intentional and/or how the statistics of the players pool works out.

...I don't see fumbles being recorded yet, despite the fact that Clay states that it should have been addressed. Maybe after another season or so. The only thing I've noticed, in my stats for each player, I have a 2002 line that has all 0's across the way, and then above it, another 2002 line that has the actual seasons. Is there any way to get rid of this? I'm using the universe.dat file that cody had supplied. Maybe I need to re-copy it over?

It does record fumble stats! My only gripe now is that extra stat line that has nothing but straight 0's going through it.

1) *Annoying Problem* Can't scroll down and see season stats after about 14 years. Need a scroll bar or something. This should be easy to fix...
2) *Editing Problem* Clay I'm editing all the players http://forum.sportsmogul.com/showthread.php3?s=&threadid=25655 and this is kind of annoying. I can't change the college that new players go to. After I create a new player they retain the same college of the person I created it from.
3) *Editing Problem* 40 yard dash...if this is important to player speed there is no way I can see of changing it.
4) The draft issues of order are gone but far too many superstar DB's and WR's coming out of the draft. I can get a great WR in the 5th round.
5) I played through 2014 and only one player got into the hall of fame. Darrell Green. Wheres Jerry Rice? Anyway also his stats were really messed up. They were in green and talked about his senior junior sophomore and freshman year of college. They also shoed the same stats in the correct amounts just with the wrong years.

I'm not sure if this applies to everyone else, but I myself have noticed that there doesn't seem to be many Offensive Guards of worth within every draft that I've had. Either they're Tackles, or the occasional Center, I don't really seem to see many Guards available. By the time I've played 10+ years worth, I've noticed nothing but T's in the whole college draft...
It's probably an insigificant thing, but I thought I'd just mention it. Not sure if anyone else is noticing that too.
On another note, Clay, you mention something about a 'toggle' for the Scouting Reports page? A second page of stats? Can you explain this further? I'm probably missing the obvious or what not.

How much longer until a patch comes out for those of us who purchased the game through Softwrap? I don't want to sound impatient, but as a buyer who purchased the game the week it was released through Softwrap, and hearing all the complaints from people about Softwrap, you can understand why I am worried about the amount of time it is taking for a patch to be released for this version. That stat-running bug kills me!

I had the demo running for the full trial. When I bought the game, I did so straight from the online store on the website. I've never had a problem.
I'm offering a suggestion to those who purchase the full version through the softwrap screen.... can these people just download the full version from the website?
Would seem to eliminate a lot of problems.

Disregard my inquiry about the stats 'toggle'...figured it out, after a few idle clicks or what not! However, there is one thing that I've noticed that seems to be missing...not that it's probably plausible or what not, but is there a way to squeeze in a stat for how many TDs a QB has actually rushed for? I've gone through some of the play-by-play files after some games, and seem to have quite the rush-happy QB every now and then.
While it does record the amount of rush attempts and yards gained, I guess the 'TDs' that the QB has rushed for aren't recorded. Just a little thing I noticed, not sure if it would be a bit difficult to add that into the mix.

Hukarez,
It's really weird that that stat isn't shown as it is one of the stats listed for editing a QB. It actually determines his mobility. That and his rushing yards.

Well, I'm not sure if anyone else notices...but it just gives me the times a QB has rushed, as well as the total yards he's gained. No TDs that he's made while rushing at all...
Though, I had hoped that by chance there would be a way to view a player's "playoff" career stats or the like. That'd be rather nice, to see how they perform in the post-season and the like.

...under Commissioner mode, and I see what you mean, cody. The 'Rush TD' statistic isn't shown in a player's card, just the rushes and the yardage gained!
I wonder if maybe, the screen would scroll to the 'right' more to properly display this?

I posted this in another thread - but just wanted to mention that there are some players with some CRAZY stats popping up (in year 2012).
There is a free agent defensive end with ten thousand fifty-five years of experience demanding $665,900,000.00 in my league.
Oh - and he wants a $400M signing bonus. :)
