Hopefully this adds a little to the game for everyone. I know the helmets that came with the game were ugly and boring as can be. All you have to do is extract the helmets to the helmet folder in the football mogul directory. I like the game but it definately needs some work to get up to par with bball mogul. I mean, whats with not even attempting to add the correct city populations, fan devotion, fan income base, etc. they have all of this info from bball mogul already so it's not like they have to break their backs like we do to research the info... well i hope they get some of it straight with fball mogul 2004.

2nd half - file is too large to upload at one time. also, if someone could please e-mail me or just post a reply to this and let me know what a good tool is to edit fball moguls dat file or let me know how to edit it inside of the game like bball mogul i would appreciate it. thanks.

I just wanted to say that you have done good work witht the helmets jnovak. It's good to see that you are trying to make this game better...despite quite a few major flaws in design. Hopefully those can still get ironed out.

jnovak: nice job on the helmets. It's a nice addition to the game.
Any possibility of a helmet jpg for what Chris Berman refers to as "the best uniforms in all pro sports" - the powder blue jerseys with white helmets from the 60s chargers? If you're looking for a uniform number to add to the helmet to make it authentic, why not #19 Lance Alworth? Or, any hints on how to create the helmet art? thanks.
As GM of the Chargers, my intent is to listen to the will of the fans, who are clamoring for a return to the throwback uniforms, unlike previous ownership's disdain of these masterpieces.
per www.chargers.com "The helmet was white with a gold bolt outlined in black. The player number was listed in black on each side of the helmet. The face mask was gray"

well, i got pretty close. doesn't quite match the other helmets, but it works for now. i'm not good enough at photo editing to make it a closer match, or to put the number on the helmet
you can also use the jpeg of lance alworth in full uniform in place of the helmet. hmmm...action shots for each team would be kind of cool too....
Clay, I hope you're near on something for Footbal Mogul 2004. As fun as they are, the reclamation projects of sorry baseball teams has lost out to football frenzy.

see jnovak's posts above for actual NFL helmets.

the helmets and logos in the thread above work in fb2k7 - drop in the helmets folder like before. they display on the roster dialogs in fb2k7.
i tried several different replacements for the graphics in the logos directory that is displayed more prominently in fb2k7 than the helmets directory. the attached nfl helmets - transparent png.zip file has some transparent helmets that work pretty good as replacement logos in the main news screens. i've labelled the helmets with the city names used in the logos directory - just extract the zip file below in the logos directory. it works with padrefan's cool new skins. the transparency isn't set right for the game matchups though, so those look hideous at the moment.
if anyone knows the magic behind editing transparent gif/png, let me know and I can fix these so that they don't look like **** in the game matchups. i've got adobe elements and can create a transparent gif or png, i just don't know what settings to use. or better yet, i've got some end zone jpg's from Arlie's TPF that would look cool as replacement to the logos. problem is, they have 0 transparency, and look like **** in the news screens and in the matchups.

Just got this game and I'm visiting these boards to dl the mods. Noticed the helmet file, which is pretty hot, but missing a few of he newer designs. I'm filling them in myself and I'll probably post a zip file later but for those interested, this site is a great source for the missing designs:

Hey, thanks for contributing.
It looks as though jnovak is long gone. I'm sure that it would be OK if you took the original helmet files from here, added the ones that you're updating, and put them in your own thread.

FM shrinks 'em a lot, but how're these? Texans (12, 12a) and Vikings (17, 17a) replacement helmets.

Arizona (helmet0, helmet0a) and Indianapolis (helmet13 and 13a).

Very nice. HOWEVER, the problem with the helmets in FBM10 is that they don't lineup in historical leagues! I have the 91 Bills using the Falcon helmet and many other differences.

No simple way of fixing it yet?
Hmmmm. In '82, Buffalo winds up with Baltimore Ravens helmets.
You'd probably (at this point) need a separate folder for every expansion/contraction period in NFL history?

Looks like the helmet naming system defaults to helmet # 3 in '82 instead of helmet3. Arizonais 0, Atlanta is 1, Ravens are 2, and Buffalo is 3, but in '82, there was no Arizona franchise. They were still in St. Louis. Baltimore still existed, but as the Colts, and Atlanta was Atlanta. So in that series of numbers, 0 is "illogical" for any season prior to 1988....... I think.

Yes, that's it. Renaming the Bills helmet helmet2 makes the correct helmet show in 1982.

So you suggest making different folders and change the helmet # based on the season used?
robinhoodnik

That seems to be the best solution to me. create a folder based on the teams that exist, then just plug 'em in appropriately as the NFL expands and contracts.

Atlanta would be 0, Baltimore (Colts) would be 1, Bills 2, etc.
It works alphabetically by city.

Yes, I do kno whow to edit graphics like thise. I'll take a look and see what it is, and how to add them. I've not added graphics to the 'base' game folders before. But it's a ncie touch.
I'd like to figure out better skins, since 2010 is hard to read, poor choice of light on light colors... will post if I can figure it out
