I know a while back James or Clay said they wanted to launch BBMO around Labor Day. That has passed a long time ago, so i figured i would create a list of the features that we still think should be added to the game. feel free to reply and add on ideas

1. computer ai- not signing 20 free agents and going way over budget
2. league stats- should be able to compare your team in other ways then just BA and ERA
3. more realistic awards- tired of a rookie of the year being given to a bench player who had 13 at bats
4. gm voting on awards?- might be kinda cool
5. standings page- i thought it would be cool if there could also be a listing of the wild card standings, so i don't have to look through and manually figure out the race.
6. free agent demands- its a bit unrealistic that i player who asks for 35 points in november would ask for 1 point in march
7. easier way to see contact information- it takes a long time to look at every team's summary to see if they have listed aim, icq, msn contact info

anything i am forgetting? comments?

1. Ya the computer has gone crazy a bit, but I also think there should be no trading with a computer team.

2. Kinda would be interested in that, but not real high on the list. I would not mind seeing every teams players that are in the last year of their contracts

3. Awards , yes they need to be fixed, I have lost out on ROY many times to some dope that just had 15 ab an a HR.

4. Having GM vote on awards would be great, but you would have to slow down the off season sim time so everyone or at least some people would have a chance to vote.

5.WC would be good to see, but I will toss that in with my seeing players in the last year of thier contrat idea.

6. FA's some of which have lost their minds. It is silly to see someone go from 50 points to 5 , I understand value an playing time , ect, but a % of what they where asking for would be better.

7. Start a thread on your local Message board an get everyone to post the info.

More to come..........

Hmmmmmmmm,

36 people looked at this post, but I am the only one to post on it? That is kinda sad, lol. No one has any ideas out there ?

I came up with a few more.

1. I know it is beta, but you need to let us know when some things are going to change, I still say it is very hard to "test" anything if my test gets messed up because of something, ( FA bidding, paying for releasing, ect )

2. Computers take over teams after a set amount of time, that is good, how about booting a GM completely after a set amount of time when they have not done anything with that team ?

3. Some kind of email check to make sure player A is player A, either by I.P. or what ever, there still enough cheaters out there to make this game suck.

********************

An just a couple of Questions

1. When are we to go "live" with this ?

2. Still any idea on the costs ?

3. A self important question, will "testers" be given discounts ?

None of these are terribly major and I'm just throwing things out there off the top of my head...

1. Could we have something on the pitchers' screen (not just the scouting report) that would indicate how many more days a pitcher has to go until he's rested?

I'm thinking they could be listed something like:

Scott Williamson (R-1)

The "R" (or a color other than red) would indicate that it's the amount of time he has to rest, and that it's not an actual injury.

2. On the pitchers, defense, and lineup screens, could it be made possible to Auto-Sort only part of the list?

Let's say you like your lineup the way it is, but might like to update the bench and AAA players so that you have the top-rated guys at the major-league level. If you could re-sort only the bench and AAA players without touching the lineup, it would be a rather nice time-saver.

3. Fix the news! I know this has to be a low priority, but it's rather disconcerting to keep seeing things like "Martinez shut down the ." If, for example, Cincinnati doesn't have a team name, couldn't we see "Cincinnati" instead of "the " in these stories?

I'm sure I'll think of something else, but that gives you a few more things to think about until I do.

It would also be nice to have some kind of waiver wire. Just another menu like free agents where you could post the players you want to get rid of and other GM's could pick them up. Right now you have to post on the forum or just manuallly offer them to every GM. It's a pain.

Good responses guys, I will have to agree on a few things and add a few.

free agents asking bids during the season are more realistic now than ever since they are asking for a few points now and a bunch later. I havent been able to check on the actual bidding though.

sortable team stats would be nice, not only to asses needs but to show off.

still more limits need to be placed on computer trading. now though there are 15 teams in every (non active) league to trade with, so chances are there will be less teams going 1000pts in debt, but more 120+ win teams. i dont know if cutting off all trading is the key, but it is still too easy to dump players.

gms voting on awards wouldnt be of much value unless it was narrowed down to say 5 players in each category (ROY, POY, MVP) and i know i wont waste my time voting on the gold glove awards. if you are going to do this it may be a good idea to have only players in the al vote for their own awards. but then you would only get 2 votes per season and the computer would have to make some more choices between ties and stuff... basically i think clays time and the staffs time could be better served working on something else.

total attendance... i finally figured it out... it takes your regular season attendance + playoff attendance (which doesnt count moneywise) to get total attendance. then it takes that number and divides it by regular season home games for average attendance. I dont know how other people feel about this, but i would rather it just show your regular season attendance numbers and leave the playoff numbers out of the mix. It tends to exagerate your actual attendance on both the tickets screen and the history screen. I just won a championship so i played an extra 10 or so sold out home games, that adds (to philly) 500,000 or so extra to my attendance number, and makes it hard to determine how well i did (during the regular season) in comparison with other years.

the most important part of a sim like this to me is the ability to build a great team and get fans interested. however, after 5 straight 100+ win seasons i have yet to gain the interest of my fans. Id like to be able to have my team to have multiple ratings like revenue potential and current level of play etc.
it would go something like this...
revenue potential - this number would be a slow changing ranking like a playoff appearance may bump you from a C+ to a B- and this could also be used to determine teirs or even better use this number as a base to determine mogul pts based on percentages ie. A+ gets 1000 for championship F gets 5000
level of play - simply put, 120 wins = A+ 40 wins = F these would change quickly and be based on current winning percentage or recent history (past 50 games or so).
You could use these two numbers in conjunction to determine attendance and tv revenues etc. if a team has an A+ potential rating but is playing at a C level then they should get between a level A+ and C (B) revenue level.
basically, id be satisfied if clay would somehow let us make the expos a good team (and keep them good).

counter offers would be nice when trading with a computer.

ok, sorry i wrote so much, hope this helps.
Kyle
