Computer managers, at least in the league that I am in, appear to have no comprehension regarding budget limits. Therefore, when a computer manager becomes available, trades become the order of the day. And when another individual picks up that team, he or she finds themselves way over budget.

I don't know a lot about programming, but is it feasible to program Computer Managers, when they are at or above their budgetary limit, to not allow trades where they further increase the team's expenses.

That is, when at or above the limit, the Computer Manager can still trade if the trade results in lower its player salaries. This might have the effect of keeping Computer Team salaries from getting out of hand when taken over by human owners.

Thank you very much for listening. -Richard

As an option to my first post, consider scripting the program as follows:

For Computer managed teams, what is offered by human managed teams must be within 10% of the Computer managed team or the computer managed team will counter with 4 times the difference. For instance, suppose I offer the computer 60 points worth of players in exchange for 30 points worth of players. The computer, if the program would accept the offer, would counter with the offer plus 108 points ([60 - {30 * 1.1}]*4). The 4 comes from the basis for the "limit". That is, the limit increases by 1 for each 4 points. So, in the example here, the computer would get 60 points worth of players plus 108 points, which would increase its limit by 27. Just a thought.

The budgetary problems with computer-managed teams is the biggest issue I have found thus far. The rest of the system is a reasonable simulation of the problems encountered by General Managers. Good job. -Richard

The computer teams shouldn't be allowed to ruin franchises. They need to actually spend money on their expenses instead of loading up on the FAs and running into the red.
