In 2 leagues I'm in, more than 60% of teams are run by inactive managers and this is frustrating because of lack of competion and lack of trading partners. I did notice on a fast sim that teams had a half computer/ half face icon which I was able to trade with.

My question is how many days (real or sim) must pass before the computer makes trading decisions for a team that is inactive ??

Very good game with a little tweaking will become great.
Thank-you for allowing me to play.

The current time for computer controlling teams is a two-step process.

After 90 days of sim time have gone by, the computer will start to manage the day-to-day lineups of the team. This helps prevent players with season-ending injuries from remaining in the active roster.

After 360 days of sim time have gone by, the computer takes over as GM.

The next time the player logs in and plays that team, he resumes full control, and the absentee clock is reset to zero.

Now then -- for the normal sim leagues, I agree that a LOT of time goes by before absentee owners are booted.

So we are currently discussing adding a new condition for computer managing, where if 7 days of real-world time go by, then the computer starts managing lineups, and if 14 days of real-world time go by, the computer takes over fully.

We haven't quite decided the exact number of days we want to have as cutoffs, but I expect we will implement this before long.

Thanks for your question,
James Grove

Thanks for answering James. I could not agree more about the timetable you mentioned regarding inactive managers in reg. sims. If someone has not bothered to check-in within 14 days then the computer should take over. (my opinion)

Have the limits for making an owner inactive changed? I noticed that James' post is a little old, and as we go "live" I wondered if these guidelines were being adjusted so that less teams sit unwatched.
