Has anyone else had a problem with "Server not found" when it is looking for a page at "www.burstnet.com" ? I am assuming that the banner ad is not loading right and it kicking me out of your site. I have to continue to hit the Back button until it finds a banner ad it can load. Is this my problem or a problem with your end?

Hi, Professor -
For starters, can you please tell us what OS and browser (make and version number) you are using?
Are you getting the error when you click a banner, or just any time? Does that error message take up your whole browser window, or just the 468x60 area allocated for the banner?
And are you getting this error when you are playing Baseball Mogul Online, or when you look at discussion boards?
That will help us figure out where the problem might lie.
Thanks,

I have this problem constantly, both here at SportsMogul.com as well as other sites that try to raise revenue through BurstNet's banner service. It appears the problem is with BurstNet rather than SportsMogul.com, unfortunately.

Can you provide more detail, NYSteinbrenner?
Since you have also experienced this problem, I'd appreciate it if you can answer the questions I posted before.
Thanks a lot,
James

I am using Windows 98 Internet Explorer 5 ver 5.00. I get the error message that takes up the whole browser window with the typical message of cannot find server, check settings , etc. The site it is looking for is either www.burstnet.com/ ... / ..../ or sometimes www.linksleader.com which made me think it can/t load the banner. My solution would be to hit the back button and most likely get a different ad and IP address. I would also get this in the small window from the info from individual players when I hit a player info card . I can see it gets the info , then quickly bounce to a cannot find server error.
Now it does not happen too often, except last night it was about 80% failure to connect. Sometimes if I was quick enough and hit the stop button, and it would stay on your site.
After I posted the message, I switched to IE 6 ( which is too cool for my taste) and I did not have the problem.
Could it be a java problem with some of the more animated banners?
Thanks for your quick response.

Professor's experiences and mine are nearly identical, James. The only difference is frequency (mine's about 20 - 30%), and that it occurs to me not only on BBMO, but also has occured in the past with an online boxing game site, vivi.com. I got so aggravated by it there that I no longer bother visiting.
just thought i'd mention that it has happened to me, but only at the office on a pc. when i'm at home, on the mac, using both netscape and ie 5 i've never experienced it.
