This is an outrage. Paying to play online is not something Im willing to do. I already paid 30 dollars for the cd rom and to pay monthly for the online version is ridiculous. I see making people pay a one time price or letting the people with the cdrom game play for free but for all of us to pay a monthly fee is out of the question.

RedSoxExtra -

I'm sorry you don't like the online pricing.

The CD-ROM game and the online game are independent games. You can play online without buying the CD-ROM and vice versa.

The idea is to let customers decide what format they want to play in.

The CD-ROM allows more flexibility in how and when you play the game; the online version adds community and head-to-head play.

I hope this helps explain our pricing structure.

Thanks for your comments,
James Grove

Baseball Mogul Online is not the first game that you have to pay to play online, and it certainly won't be the last. Any game that requires a large amount of server bandwidth, and a large amount of storage for a persistent world will require you to pay. Most massively multiplayer games require you to buy a $50 game plus pay 10 bucks a month to play online. Anarchy Online, Ultima Online, Asheron's Call, Phantasy Star Online 2, Shattered Galaxy, all require you to buy a $50 USD game and pay money to play online. Baseball Mogul doesn't require you to pay for the game itself which is a plus. To be completely honest though, I'm not sure how many people will want to pay 10 bucks a month for a game that you only check up on a couple of times a day. The other games I mentioned involve playing for long periods of time. But I guess that could be a bad thing as well since a lot of people don't have that much time to waste. Oh well, we'll see when the game goes live.

ok, redsoxtra, think in this way, imagine you pay about 7 bugs for your 3 teams. Lez see, there's roughly 30 days a month, so 7/3 is 2.33, that mens 2.33 bugs per team a month. 2.33/30 days is 0.078, say it 0.08. So that means you pay only 0.08 a day for a team. How's that sound?
BTW, particleman, are all those game u mentioned are GRAPHIC games?
